And please, I am well aware that there are orphans that need caring for/ adopting, and that the world already has quite an abundance of people. These are other topics entirely. For this thread, I'd just like to get some good answers to help my friends be able to do as they wish in good health and safety. Thanks

Thai Friends Need In-Vitro Recommendation
2012-01-05 18:45:00
A Thai couple I've been friends with for years is having trouble conceiving and it looks like they will want to do in-vitro or even use a relative as a surrogate carrier. They have seen their doctors but I am a bit concerned that they should shop around and maybe get better advice as far as options for procedures and prices. Anybody out there with a specialist or clinic who I could refer them to ? Actual first-hand experience is much appreciated.

Most Impressive Local Caves - Which ?
2012-01-02 00:13:13
I love a good road trip and want to get out to see some impressive caves with fairly easy access. I know we are supposedly surrounded by caves in the numerous local national parks, but there are so many to choose from - mostly with little information on them available in English. I'd just like some help in selecting which ones to go to and which direction to head. I think it's just fine if I have to camp out or stay in a guesthouse in a local village if it's a bit much for a one day excursion: ie the travel + touring the caves. Could be a perfectly good weekend getaway.
So what are some of your favorite local caves ? Where are the nicest Drapery Columns, Stalactites, Stalagmites, colorful mineral deposits, etc. ?

Hong New Year Dec 24-28Th
2011-12-26 02:15:18
I was unable to check out the festivities this year so far, but if people will still be up in the mountains thru the 28th I might take a moto ride. I went a couple years ago and it's quite an amazing and fascinating cultural nexus. Every year 12 villages gather into one place with easily 80%+ of the people decked out in all manner of traditional garb. Thousands of Hmong gather and participate in all manner of traditional games and contests. When I went it was in a mountain village called Pong Yeng not far from the Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens. Any information from TV members is greatly appreciated.
Best Pies In Town - Savory
2011-12-19 22:12:36
As much fuss as been made here on the forum over the myriad beloved Farang foods we make an effort to find, I don't see one on pies. Frankly I'm shocked. I'd assume at least all of those from the UK have a favorite places to grab a pie as much as they do to find a proper Sunday Roast.
Please point me towards your favorite eateries and you favorite varieties of pies. Whose should I really try ?

Another Crackdown
2011-12-10 03:34:27
Tonight was out for a drink - didn't get out till 11.30p or so. Just a little after 12am came the full lights off n doors shut routine on Loi Kroh Soi 1 - and I assume all of LK and all around town for that matter. Word was it was a different set of police than those that have been clamping down the last month or so. Some people reported seeing 20+ BIB's on motorsai fanning out just as midnight approached.
Wonder who is making his mark or searching for extra dosh this time.... ??
