I bought my Townhouse Central Pattaya 10 years ago, I paid 800.000 bt.

If you arent Thai then you didnt buy it; someone else did. And if you are Thai then you cant properly compare your property with the property that farangs can legally buy.

I paid 800.000 bt for my Townhouse, 10 years ago and that was the going price at the time to Thai or Non Thai - Today's going price for the same is 1.7 Million ( to Thai or non Thai )

Ok then, i paid out 800.000 Bt 10 Years ago, if i decided to sell tomorrow, i could sell for 1.7 Million, I have a buyer wanting it as its such a good location, Central.

Hope that is better worded for you Sir :)

I do not live in a Village with security.  I have lived Central Pattaya in the same house for 10 Years,  I have never been burgled.  I have security bars on all windows and doors,  Good locks on Doors and outer Gate, a loud barking dog in my front garden, he barks when a mosquito flies past.  I did have an alarm system fitted a few years back which was brought over from the UK, but it does not work anymore, but still have the alarm box on view on the side of my house.   When i go out, I always put the padlock on my gate on the inside, so it looks like i am in and have locked it from the inside,  if you put the padlock on the outside, its obvious you are not at home.
If I was worried about burglers so much, I think I would also leave my Television on when i went out, but there is no need for me to do that.  Good luck.

Must be wonderful being your neighbour

Oh yes, they all love me to bits, as i have been here the longest, i watch out for things and let them all know if there are any problems :)

In Topic: How Much Chance That I Will Get My Things Back?

When i first came to live in Pattaya over 10 Years ago, I was watched at an ATM machine where i drew out 2 lots of cash a Total of 38.000 bt.  I was then followed approx 6 kms and when i got off the bike, my bag was snatched by two young looking Thai thugs, (they were driving behind us all the time, but we did not think anything of it) driving an old wreck of a bike.  It all happened so quickly !!!!  Inside my bag was also some personal possessions and even though i filed a complaint at the police station, i never heard anything again about it.

I was scared for weeks as my Thai address was in the bag, but then came to the conclusion that the thieves would be more scared than me, and no way, would they dare make an appearance.

I certainly learnt my lesson the hard way, with regards to the type of bags i buy now, i will not go out unless i have a body bag going over my body or a bum bag under my clothes.

I am glad to hear that you are ok, you are very brave to walk alone, i walk my dog alone but only within close distance from my house and my partner keeps popping out to see if i am ok, this is after 10 years.....

Good luck, i hope you get some of your things back, but i very much doubt it really unfortunately.
