The action of ignoring the thread also allows new members to have a little input......
Its an excellent point this. I remember joining this forum and making the first few posts. It can be a daunting experience for those new to forums or especially this one.
Its easy to attack a newbie but bad form in my opinion.
Unless the obvious troll type stuff of course.

I Just came back to the US from Isaan, where I stayed for several months, and my experience was entirely different. I was involved with doing some work at our property, and I had a hard time finding people to work for me, every one had steady jobs.In the morning when we were going to the property in the village, it looked funny because every one was driving the opposite direction going to work, It looked like a mad exodus same thing in the evening when we were leaving the village, and everyone was returning..Hardly a situation where all the man stayed home , drunk whiskey and slept.
When I come to Thailand, I spend one or two days in BKK and then head for Isaan, If i could fly directly to Khon Kaen, I would probably never see BKK, , The people are friendly , honest and hard working, The land is beautiful, and the air is clean .
I love it there.
PS: there and in the other provinces is where the real Thailand is,

She has given me a daughter and will soon give me a son
For that amazing gift, I love her (nearly) as much as I love cricket

While money is very important, there are more important things in life. My wife has been through pregnancy (and labour) and given us a daughter, and she is now pregnant again with our son (who will be a famous cricketer by the way).
My wife's (non-financial) contribution to the relationship is worth more to me than all the money in the world.

He will have to get off unpunished or with a slap on the wrist because it is unthinkable for a "poo yai" of his status to go to jail for merely looting the taxpayer but it will be a costly undertaking and his enemies have the satisfaction of seeing him bogged down in legal proceedings for years.

The Dark Side has it's share of raunchy places to go. You just need to know where they are. Certainly no need to go into Pattaya if that is the sort of thing you are looking for

I'd like to extend that collection of links with any additional source of hard facts/statistical information you may have, about HIV in general or in Thailand in particular.
Thank you.
P.S.
about the debate on infection rates, I'd like to direct your attention to the statistics pertaining to the different provinces.
Thai provinces not known for western sex tourism have among the highest infection rates especially among freelancers, so it can be inferred that the infection rates for freelancers and venues catering to the Thai clients (or cambodian, burmese...) are much higher than the rates among sex workers catering to foreigners.
Let's not forget 90% (probably more) of the Thai sex trade takes place between Thais.

This guy is a f*%&ing moron and that isn't even remotely true. New infections in Thailand have dropped from +150,000 per year in the early 90s to 10,000 per year now, roughly the same per capita level as the United States. Southern African countries have 20-30% of the population infected and Thailand has less than 1%, and most of them infected more than 10 years ago and the number of new cases are relatively small.
I don't know if he is incredibly misinformed or he is deliberately spreading misinformation to keep people away from Thailand or because he is against prostitution for moral reasons. Either way he is an uninformed bigot
