and every time I see your avatar reminds me of beano school report (or was it Dandy?)

Name of Pupil: DAN, Desperate Age: 15
Dear Mr and Mrs Dan,
As we all know, Desperate is not a bright boy (if boy is the right word for someone who's been shaving since he was six). He has spent so long at the bottom of the class the other children call him 'Shipwreck.'
I am sure there are no similarities.

It's the Dandy...... Desperate Dan is 74 years old....nearly as old as me.
He knows all about good food...especially pies.

But you southerners don't put mushy peas and gravy on your pies, so you cant know that much Posted Image
I've seen that on the sidewalk outside Nellie Dean's.....but I thought it was something else! Posted Image

The complaints people have about "The Business" are an "Embarrassment".
Its a "Crying Shame" people want the dog "Not Home Today" when they visit.
"Take it or leave it" I say. "Thats the way to do it".

I've never seen the dog "Waltz into mischief", he seems to sit there, good as can be in "The Sun and The Rain". "Give me a Reason" to not love that dog Mary.

If you're not a fan of dogs, "Please Don't Go" "One Step Beyond" the entrance. But "Don't Quote Me On That", its not my place to say.

"A Day on the Town" wouldn't be right without seeing "That Face" of the darling dog Mary. You could say it would be "Madness"

Maybe you complainers should just "Shut Up" and start "Stepping Into Line".

The sausage king products are very expensive and a very poor quality product I wouldn't pay 1 baht for one of thier tasteless pies, ugh disgusting.  very little filling and just a tasteless gellitine inside.  tried them once and never go back and warned my friends off them as well.

#5323775 Australian Man Faces Death Penalty In Malaysia

Posted Baloo22 on 2012-05-23 08:25:33

This man deserves a fair trail in accordance with Malaysian law with a proper defense attorney. If found guilty, I fully support the Malaysian government in applying the death penalty. This man is 32 years old and made his own decision to, allegedly, commit the treacherous and dispicable act of dealing in illegal drugs. People who deal illegal drugs are worse than murderers. Most murderers kill one or two people. Drug dealers destroy whole families. Many times, hundreds of families.   The correct term to use when refering to drug dealers is "vermin".

I wish my home country had the same wisdom and resolve that Malaysia and Singapore have in response to drug dealers. Unfortunatly, we have far too many unbelieveably ignorant idiots that scream large excuses for drug-dealing scum and utter a bunch of worthless blather about "it's the governments fault for the war on drugs."

Sorry, but no sympathy from me. He knew that he'll get the death penalty if he gets caught with that amount and still he went through with it! That's simply stupid! Sorry, mate!

Poor sucker.  So young, and his life is over.  Are his chances of avoiding the death penalty any better in Malaysia than they would be in Singapore?

I say hang him for stupidity....the penalities in both Singapore and Malaysia are very well know and it is known the sentances are carried out, so why would someone be so stupid enough to even try it on

It was all over the Thai news channels last week. What I dont get is why they thought it would be a good Idea to put computers, cameras etc in the luggage hold of a bus that makes stops. I never do it even on a plane it all goes in a carry on ruck sack.
I met a really good one here in Chiang Mai. Set up the business, had a great web site and good products. Looked for investors. Fantastic talker, the kind of guy you couldn't argue with. Had a monopoly on truth and loved to tell you how honest he was. If there was any hint of opposition then he'd accuse you of stuff that didn't happen. Frightening type of guy really because behind the smile was a cunning and scheming brain. Then got his girlfriend to borrow money from banks and soon after did a runner out of the country. Now the cops are looking for his girlfriend so in the end, if she comes back to Thailand, she'll suffer because here it is a criminal matter not a civil matter. His product was headsets if you ever come across him. But you see this kind of duplicity leaves you scratching your head ....... perhaps he was genuine after all. But as I write stuff it's a great basis for a series of short stories for an English language publication (which is why I'm researching this stuff). I hate lies and cheating of any sort which is why I find Thailand and the Thais so disgusting ........ but this guy was a farang not Thai.

Well your feelings are your feelings and no one can deny you them.
What I don't understand is why with the attitude.

"I hate lies and cheating of any sort which is why I find Thailand and the Thais so disgusting."

Why you would stay here. I mean no disrespect or any of that get out stuff. I am  genuinely curious as to why one would stay here with that attitude towards the country he lives in and the people in it. I see you have been on Thai Visa seven years you have me by one but that seems like a long time to put up with the conditions you claim to live in. I know for myself if I had to live in those conditions I would be out of here like a shot.
I have lived here 3 years and a couple of months and yes, I am very disillusioned. Seriously considering going back to the UK, France or Timbuctoo.
When I say 'lies' from Thais you only have to look at the politics from Thaksin downwards, the corruption so that every shop in Baan Tawai has to pay the forestry guys 1000b a month under the counter (that's 500 shops) and if you want a permit to do anything you have to pay 3x the cost of the permit as a backhander and then the cost of the permit before anything happens, look at the scheming girls in the bars and its not limited to them: Hi-so girlss cheating farangs so they can buy even more expensive handbags. Open your eyes, these people have no morals whatsoever. I've posted here about my ex-wife who even though she is a scammer and cheater and liar has a management job in international relations at the main government hospital in a city close to here. And so it goes on ..........

Your post probably offends many people here. But, being a realist what you write rings very true.

The level of corruption and common lack of morals in Thailand is quite sickening. However, to balance this out, for each negative aspect there are numerous positive aspects which continue to make Thailand a very pleasant place to be.

In order to have a balanced opinion, we need to take a balanced view…. The good, the bad, the ugly, this thread goes to show that this exists in Westerners as in Thai’s.
The deciding factor is often Money – it’s the route of many problems, and for some its difficult to make honestly – Thai’s and Westerners both need money to survive and with a lack of it comes a certain level of desperation which replaces scruples and breeds questionable morality, born from this desperation are the con-men and women of any race, nationality and gender.

You are right, it is disgusting. But, it’s just more open and easier to spot in Thailand than most places…. which almost makes it more tolerable and honest in a bizarre way.

I get like that every now and then, it lasts around ten minutes and then i realise how much a sh1t country the UK has become and no matter how bad my life became I couldn't think of anything worse than moving back there. The grass may seem greener on the other side, that's because it usually has more bullsh1t.

Yeah,...........but Rotherham! Posted Image

It was a good game, If not rather one sided after the ridiculous sending off and penalty early in the second half. I watched it in the Red Lion as for some reason True decided to show it. Well done to Hearts on a 5-1 win.

Thats absolute madness. I sat in my house screaming at the computer....

In fairness it is probably best i was in the safe confines of my house. I shut the laptop at 4-1 and went and watched Marmaduke. You know its down the tubes when you're watching a film about a talking dog.
