Siem Reap To Bangkok Overland
2012-04-03 14:05:10
Hi,
Ive done a search to no avail and looked on other forums but only found replies in the 2009 era.
3 of us are flying into Phnom Phenn on the 16th of April then after spending a few days there going overland to Siem Reap.
We will leave Siem Reap on the 22nd April overland and are wondering what is the best way to get back to BKK, we are not looking for the cheapest but probably the fastest without paying for the 6k Bangkok Air flight each.
2 of us have non-imm visa's for Thailand and the other will need a VOA at Poipet, does anyone know of a taxi firm that will do it, if so how long did it take and how much. Ive read alot of horror stories about hours on the border waiting for all the group on a bus to get through, so I thinking more of a taxi to the border then a separate taxi to BKK. So any information from someone who has done it say in the last 6 months would be welcomed.
Cheers In advance

Red Lion New Projector
2012-03-05 07:16:17
I went to The Red Lion last night to watch the football (soccer) and they have had a new HD projector fitted, the picture was brilliant, probably the best I have seen in Chiang Mai. Just wondering if anywhere else has a crystal clear picture for the games, I know most places have projectors but the picture is usually blurred. I was well impressed. (doesn't take much I know)
Childrens Id Card
2011-09-26 16:14:07
I know its been discussed before but just thought I would give you a quick rundown of my experience today. My 13 year old daughter needed to get her ID card and as she is not at school full time today due to it being exam week we decided today would be the day.
We went to Amphur Sansai as its the nearest one to us with a her birth cert, passport and family book as well as copies of the afore mentioned.
When we got there we joined a small line of kids and family obviously doing the same thing, after 10 minutes wait she had to go to the desk with her Mum and hand all the paperwork in, another 5 minutes later and they called her name and she had to have her fingerprint digitised as well as a photo taken (please note that the Child has to wear a collored shirt or blouse.) and then fill out a quick personal information form (full name, address etc). Once this was done she was told to sit down again and five minutes later her name was called to sign for her new ID.
All in less than 30 minutes and she has her new ID.
Her school did say that they will eventually take all the Kids to have the ID cards done but they were waiting for appointments and the Government is starting with the state schools so it could be some time. So its a job less for them to do. But very painless. Total cost 10thb.

Plastic Shrink Wrap
2011-06-13 20:42:37
I'm moving home in the next few weeks and I am looking for the plastic type wrapping that I can put over some of my furniture to avoid it getting dirty. The stuff i'm after is like they wrap suitcases at the airports. I know some of the wrapping you can heat it with an airdryer and it will shrink around the furiture which would be even better. Any ideas as to where it can be purchased would be welcomed. Cheers
