Sadly Angel of death you'll find many Thai  speakers of English are  unable or unwilling to string words together in sentences for the fear of committing a grammatical crime.

Remember  the Alexander Pope poem below, it may serve you and your prospective Thai students well.

A little learning is a dangerous thing ; Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring : There shallow draughts intoxicate the brain, And drinking largely sobers us again. Fired at first sight with what the Muse imparts, In fearless youth we tempt the heights of Arts ; While from the bounded level of our mind Short views we take, nor see the lengths behind, But, more advanced, behold with strange surprise New distant scenes of endless science rise ! So pleased at first the towering Alps we try, Mount o’er the vales, and seem to tread the sky ; The eternal snows appear already past, And the first clouds and mountains seem the last ; But those attained, we tremble to survey The growing labours of the lengthened way ; The increasing prospect tires our wandering eyes, Hill peep o’er hills, and Alps on Alps arise !

Learn the grammar and you don't learn the language, learn the language  to communicate then put  the whistles and bells of grammar on the language.Posted Image

In Topic: Budget Is All About Plundering For A Spending Spree: Thai Opinion

Interesting to note that Thailands trade deficient has yet again risen. The world, or rather the population and industries of many countries in this world do not have the purchasing power they once had.

Bhakta  made an interesting post # 13 (interesting post number) and his comments  were the same as my thoughts.

The scene is returning to the  era of 1997 and if  the brakes are not put on this  current  maladministration and its suicidal populist spending spree and  the resultant financial feeding frenzy that those in the know will  indulge in Thailand is yet again going to be  a financial basket case.

In Topic: India- Tiger Poachers To Be Shot On Sight

2012-05-24 21:14:42

Rather a long time back( 25+ years) while I was visiting family in Maharashtra who are English farmers descended from the days of the Raj and thus England's colonial past.I met a tiger face to face..

I was walking in the fringes of a wooded area and  all but stepped on a sleepy tiger, we both were  a trifle uneasy about the encounter  which  resulted in a rapid about turn on my part  as well as the part of the tiger after our eye contact and very near physical contact.

Luckily for me the tiger  decided that  it  should mirror my actions thus all ended well apart from the somewhat unexpected  rapid cure for the constipation I didn't know I had at that time !!

Truth be known I probably managed the 100 metres in around a world record shattering 5 seconds, shame there were no people with stop watches to record my athletic antics..

As I recall  the tiger was indeed a magnificent creature however I  don't think that was a mutual feeling though after being woken up and rudely disturbed by a gangly human being..

Shooting poachers.

Indeed a splendid idea and leave their carcasses where they may drop so as they become part of the food chain  as a  reward for the illegally hunted  creatures  in general.

Thaksin and his Red Shirts will get the best justice money can buy if the current maladministration has its way.
