At The 11Th Hour On The 11Th Day Of The 11Th Month

2010-11-11 06:25:49

We shall remember them

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month 1918, the guns of World War I fell silent.

Now, come and remember all those who have fallen in all wars and who still die for their countries

Let us not forget those of all nations who gave their all, military and civilians, men, women and children, in the past, now,  and sadly the future. The needless slaughter continues, the fires of hate are stoked by nations and religions for what ?

Have we learnt nothing over the years ?

When you get home, tell them of us

And say

That for your tomorrow, we gave our today

They suffered all

Sacrificed all

Dared all

And died

WE SHALL REMEMBER THEM

Celebrations over sale of mothballed steel plant
By Alan Jones, PA

Steelworkers were celebrating tonight after news that a huge plant mothballed earlier this year with the loss of more than 1,000 jobs is to be sold under a multimillion-pound deal to a Thai company.

The Corus plant on Teesside was partially closed when a four-nation international consortium suddenly walked away from a long-term contract to buy its products.

After months of behind-the-scenes talks, it was announced that plans were under way to sell the factory to SSI, the biggest steel producer in Thailand for £320 million, raising the prospect of a "significant" number of new jobs and returning the plant to full production.

The Government, unions and local politicians hailed the announced as "fantastic news" for the North East, which relies heavily on the steel industry for employment.

British paedophile Gary Robcoy kicked out of Thailand
13/06/2010

A British teacher last night became the first convicted paedophile to be deported from Thailand in a crackdown on foreign perverts. Gary Robcoy, 30, was kicked out and blacklisted because of a conviction for child abuse in Britain. He had not been found guilty of any offences in Thailand.

Robcoy, from Wapping, East London, was arrested at Potisarn Pittayakorn school in Bangkok, where he worked as a computer science and English teacher. He was put on a British Airways flight to London.

He is the first to be kicked out in a drive by the Thai government which has been liaising with UK agencies.

An immigration official said: "This is a new initiative. Thailand should not put its children at risk by allowing these people to come to our country.".

Good to see united action at last by the authorities of the countries concerned.I speak as both a parent and a teacher.

It was interesting to note if one searched for Potisarn Pittayakorn School there were a number of results including'' Facebook.''

When will people and school administrators realise that'' Facebook'' is probably the most wonderful way for a kiddy fiddler to surf the net in search of victims, either as a teacher trying to get a position at the school or as a child stalker intent upon snaring innocent unsuspecting child victims ?

I feel that we should also be aware of the dangers posed by Hi-Five and My Space regarding kiddy fiddlers searching for victims.

We should take steps to ensure both students, their parents and the school are aware of the dangers posed by the unknowing users of the social contact sites in general .

Personal Assistant

2010-06-11 06:00:49

I like the new set up , however I can't seem to find my old personal assistant section. Posted Image

Along with this, sometimes pages load so slowly a stampede of snails would pass me by whilst I wait for the page to load.Posted Image

My system is clean, no glitches , bugs virus infections.Posted Image

So being a rather old sort (64) is it my understanding, or misunderstanding of modern technology that is somewhat lacking, or is it the case certain features have been removed  from Thai Visa.?Posted Image

Any help, advice, comments are indeed most welcome. Posted Image
