Was in Bkk recently and met a very personable young lady with GREAT english skills and she just opened a small guesthouse I thought people might like to know about, especially first timers to Bkk. She's been to a very good Uni here and is quite bright, and keen to help people to get around town. The place is newly opened and still in the decoration phase but the prices are reasonable if not good for the opening phase. Mick staffs the place herself and while I have not been I KNOW it's clean and nice. She has a good network of friends and I suspect she could find someone for personal tour guide service or help in shopping, etc. We discussed at length the problems even finding little common things around here can bring. I see someone can't find polypropylene rope in one post. She's even willing to do room service.
I think this place would be a great stop for a first timer especially.

Interests
hard to say, things are changing at this point in my life, I HAVE been into fixing up old homes for 25 yrs and am probably doing my last , MINE ! I bought new tools and wondered if I'd use them anywhere else. With any luck i'll relocate to Thailand and find new interests and start a new life. I'm hauling along a fat HD fulla music from classic rock, to Zappa, big bands and blues and bluegrass. Wish I could take along my good old Chevy van and fit it out to live in with solar and the whole nine yards. Got a feeling it would cost WAY too much to ship tho. I dunno, it's all up in the air now.

Will They Give You 30 Stay On Entry If You Have Tourist Visa In Passport
2010-08-26 23:14:28
thing is, I want to hit Bkk, decompress for a couple weeks then hit Phils for a few weeks, come back to Bkk, and then go to cambodia for maybe a month. So ideally I'd like to do regular 30 day on entry, then hit Phils, Come back and get another 30 day on entry, then say a week later go to Cambodia. Not sure how long I'll stay there, might be a month, Might be two. Might even be just a few weeks and if short stay there, I would come back and possibly spend up to 2 months in Thailand before flying out. I'm really wondering if they'll ignore the routine 30 day permission to stay and go right to stamping and activating the 60 day tourist visa, which would screw my plans up. I mean how DO ppl use Bkk as a home base while visiting nearby countries?
