May I complain at the Austrian embassy for Lady Gaga being American and not Austrian?

If I understand it right the American embassy has no power to close Lady Gagas mouth.....

Of course they don't.

Does anybody know who might have that power? Just their telephone number will do. With a little persuasion I might be able to cajole them to provide a degree of peace and quiet from this virago and her PR machine. I'd be happy to provide the needle and thread or Loctite. Then maybe I could safely repose and listen to my Vera Lynn 78's.

What a pity that the US Ambassador didn't have the balls to tell the Thai complainant that this freaky female person is a US citizen and is therefore a free spirit - or loose cannon depending upon the viewpoint. The citizens of other civilised countries also have basic freedoms and are prone to exercise them on occasion. It might be added that some thousands of people from the 'Free World' died trying to give the Thai peoples the freedoms that we enjoy - and it is Thai people that prevent the exercise of those rights. That brings a far greater shame to Thailand than an off the cuff remark about a copy of an expensive bauble.

I asked my wife how to cook a spicy Thai salad. She didn't know. Apparently using a pestle and mortar isn't classed as cooking. It seems that Yingluck has hidden talents. Can there be such a thing as a cooked salad?

Her Big Brother used to do a bit of cooking in public I seem to remember but all he could manage was Morning Glory. I guess that is as easy as boiling an egg.

This is exactly what happens in other countries, such as the UK. You charge them with an obvious offence so that you can hold them and question them. Then when/if you have evidence that they committed a bigger crime you charge them with that.

Correct. Ronnie Biggs was charged with riding a bicycle without a rear light and held in the nick until the fuzz had enough evidence to be sure that he was the mastermind behind the Great Train Robbery.

It is a tad strange that the crime is known as it is because there was no actual loss of train, only some dosh on it's way to be destroyed. Biggsie and Co did actually save the Bank of England going to the trouble of feeding a furnace thus adding to the UK's pollution problem.

The money spent by the Thaksin political machine was stolen from the people in a variety of ways. Being bribed with their own money - what a loss of face. I pray that the poor and downtrodden come to their senses soon.
