What a circus, all that was missing was a clown, but she was at a business meeting.

#5323201 Thaksin A Loyal Friend Of Reds: Natthawut

Posted gand on 2012-05-22 22:53:53

Had Thaksin stayed in Thailand and faced his charges, served what ever little time they would have given him, like the red shirts are doing now because of him, none of this would have happened. No red shirts dead from all the violence, no red shirts in jail. And Thaksin could be fighting shoulder to shoulder with his red shirts, instead of playing politics from behind the curtain like a puppet master.

The People's Information Centre! Does anyone have any idea what this is?
pauljones  get a life and stop whinning, oh the coup, oh the yellows, oh the almart system.  We have heard it all before, this doesnt make victims of mob of rioting violent hoodlems who fire granades into security forces, unarmed civillians, gasoline tankers and barracade themselves in Bangkoks  city center for months then burn it down.

What about the protestors providing relief to the country? Has it already been forgotten that these people shut the country down for 7 weeks? My feeling is that if the government was guilty of anything, it was that they did not act sooner to put down the unrest. Democratic protests are one thing. Blocking major boulevards, and shutting down the capital is quite another, and should not be tolerated in any democracy. If anything the people are to account to the country. Not the government to the people!

#5266694 PM Yingluck Vows To Speed Up Improving Quality Of Life For Workers

Posted rubl on 2012-05-02 00:43:18

Give the lady a break, guys! She vowed to speed up improving the quality of life for Thailand’s workers while promising that the Bt300 minimum wage would cover all provinces nationwide within the coming year.

Obviously she wasn't mentioning non-employed people nor the seemingly growing trend of workers being 'let go' because of a need to improve producivity

#5250268 Abhisit Vows To Back Probe Into 91 Deaths

One of the few honourable and most honest Thai's that is involved with the governance of what could be an awesome country.
Comparing the morals and values of Abhisit against Thaksin or any many of the Shinwatra's is like chalk and cheese.

The red supporters felt that the victims, who were sacrificed for the ruling party, were abandoned while the leaders are now rewarded with ministerial posts.

Golly gee, yah think?  This is what you get when you SELL your votes.  Live and LEARN.

Even the Chinese have a limit to the amount of kickback that is being demanded .... but can someone tell me how these incompetents still have the support of the masses?

When will common sense start to prevail in this country?

"He clearly was trying to emphasise that the government's push for reconciliation was ultimately aimed at whitewashing Thaksin's wrongdoings".

And that is what this 2-for-1 thing is all about. Just another brick for the criminalization wall the Opposition has been trying to build around their political nemesis..............Winning elections is not an amnesty-able matter. But what happened at R'song is very much subject to amnesty discussions. ...Not sure how amenable those directly affected through the loss of loved ones, or those who have been struggling with the effects of injuries since, would feel about those responsible being given a free ride............... Also with respect to Jatuporn and Nathawut, since when is anti-coupism an amnesty-able matter. Mr. Abhisit and Suthep on the other hand, have both political and homicidal liabilities, the latter for which they have a culpability which they are now trying to 'defer and delay"...................... This kind of 2-for-1 gamesmanship is advancement of Opposition agenda's and a 'kick in the head' for those referenced above, who are most directly affected to this day.

Just like you two more funny men.
". Also with respect to Jatuporn and Nathawut, since when is anti-coupism"

Why did they wait until the Dems were in power to bring that up. After all there had been two previous Thaksin controlled governments they could have charged with the same thing.
Both those government were elected by the same method as the Dems. The main difference being Thaksin could not control them directly so he went out and hired a group of red shirt goons to cause so munch trouble the Dems would not be able to operate with the freedom of there predecessors. They were kept busy trying to protect Bangkok from burning down
Are you sure you are a academician. You hint at it on another post. On the other hand that could be your problem with seeing reality in it's entirety.

Those who order the shooting, which lead to 92 death needs to be given life sentence.

or maybe a medal....!   Depending on how you view that terrorist situation.. were these not the same people who were burning Bangkok, and if not, what were they doing there on that glorious day..  I think I remember those terrorists being told to break up their illegal protest and go home..  many times...

Another busy day for you. Is there anything meaningful at all in the spam above?

This is very well played by Abhisit. It's just a massive shame the likes of him and Korn are in very short supply out here.

A visitor made a few jokes last night about the competence of our current lovely PM. Greed is well set to destroy Thailand.

Really? Abhisit's record on corruption  is dismal. His administration was characterized by multiple corruption scandals, a caucus where an alleged murderer sits and a finance minister that  authorized billions of baht worth of projects without the necessary oversight.

Well I was less than impressed with Abhisit, but I never heard that he was corrupt. Most of the corruption happened at the coalition partner which are now with PTP.
And while his administration wasn't 100 % clean, in compare with TRT, PPP, PTP governments the Democrats appear like holy persons. They are the only one who don't fill their pockets without any shame.

For me the bigger picture is this. If you let everybody off with an amnesty, the law no longer becomes a deterent, not only for politicians butr for everybody in Thailand. The law will be toothless. Without the fear of the law to govern appropriate behaviour you learn fairly swiftly that if you do wrong, but can garner enough support and kick up a big enough stink, you'll get your way.

Maybe it would just be easier to get rid of all laws instead

As for Abhi and Suthep offer - good - let each side offer up its sacrifical lambs (Taksin and Abhisit, Suthep), proivde the public with the accounability it deserves.

Lets see if this is about Taksins amnesty or not? Lets see if PTP accepts, or not and squirms, wriggles and makes excuses for why this would be a bad idea.

#5129318 Crackdown On Land Owned By Foreign Residents

Posted tragickingdom on 2012-03-13 00:57:24

How interesting. Are they afraid they going to take Pattaya or Phuket to other countries, leaving a big whole in the country with just black matter? Maybe it is about time hat Thais will lose their right on landownership abroad too. It will teach them a lesson. Never mind, nothing will happen. Lay down for a few weeks, and the boys in charge have filled their pockets and go back to sleep.
