In Topic: Bay Area Celebrates 75th Birthday Of Iconic Golden Gate Bridge

The GG Bridge is one of the few things in the PRSF (People's Republic of San San Francisco) that is still worth celebrating. FYI -- I am 3rd generation Bay Area native and before I moved away from CA nearly 10 years ago, I witnessed the steady degradation of SF and CA in general. The Marxist PansieCrats that have been running SF and CA for decades now have turned it into a regulatory, ethical and moral morass.

This type of arrogance and stupidity just can't be fixed.

In Topic: Pg Poll: Thai English Skills

Karen Bravo..."Bravo"!!! I think it's pretty arrogant to expect the locals of any country to able to speak decent English or some other language other that their own for the convenience of foreigners, especially those of us who have been here for an extended period of time. It's just as diffilcult for Thais to learn English as it is for Euros, Yanks, Aussies, etc. to learn Thai.

In Topic: Tot Offline In Bangkok For Several Hours Now

Glad to hear it's all working again. I have been living in Nakhon Pathom for going on 6 years now, and during the first several years, TOT was AWFUL. THEN, some competition came in; up until that point, TOT was the only game in town. After the competition came in and offered faster speeds at lower prices, TOT woke up from their long slumber and got their act together.

In Topic: Heathrow Airport

Having been through about 2 dozen airports in Asia, the EU and N. America over the last 10 years or so and over 1 million miles travelled, all I can about Swampy vs. London "Deathrow" is, it is a race to the bottom. The one critical item that makes Swampy so bad is the immigration queues, especially now. For Death Row, it's like the Catecombs on steroids + some pretty gruff security check officers.

My all-time favorite airports:

1) Singapore Changi
2) Hong Kong
3) KL
4) Beijing
5) Munich
6) Shanghai Pudong
7) Seoul Incheon
8) SFO/LAX/San Jose, CA (all three have improved greatly over the last couple of years)
9) Denpasar (if for no other reason than you're in Bali)
10) Seattle SETAC
