BANGKOK, 22 May 2012 (NNT) According to survey results by Business Software Alliance (BSA), over 59 percent of computer users in the kingdom admitted to using pirated software on a regular basis.

Findings from the 2011 BSA Global Software Piracy Study showed that 74 percent of those surveyed in Thailand admitted to purchasing illegally obtained software. The survey also revealed that 72 percent of the installed software around Thailand is pirated, with a commercial value of 26 billion baht.

59 percent of the respondents admitted to frequent software license abuse, while 14 percent would purchase pirated software once in a while. Users of pirated software in the country, according to the survey, are aged between 18-44.

BSA spokesperson, Warunee Ratchatapattanakul, said the alliance and related government agencies are launching awareness campaigns, urging computer users to respect software property rights as software piracy hurts the kingdom’s economic growth.

The annual BSA Global Software Piracy Study was conducted in partnership with with International Data Corporation (IDC) and Ipsos Public Affairs. Nearly 15,000 computer users across 33 countries participated in the survey.

Reading this article reminds me of the children's fable concerning the King's new clothes, To just talk perception, her survey says eggs are less than 3 Baht a piece where I buy my eggs,(Tesco Lotus) eggs are 45 to 47 Baht for 10 that makes them 4.5 + per egg. Limes 7 to 10 Baht a piece???? bottled water up 60%. Last year I paid 10 Baht for 20 liters today it costs me 16 Baht.

The everyday items are up,up,up. The P.M. just needs to face reality and quite trying to spin everything with her "Red" tinted glasses.

Yes, it was a plush Van with air front and rear it may been have a 10 pass. it has three sets of seats. he does speak passable English, but his more comfortable speaking Thai.

At the end of the day, when I drive to Bangkok from Phetchabun my gas in my truck cost right at 4,000 and I have to drive 5 plus hours each way and am tuckered out for a couple of days. So, to having be able to relax and enjoy the trip it was well worth the extra of 5oo Baht that it cost me.

His # is 0899598051 and he will go anywhere I believe. He lives in Phetchabun, however he told me the next day he was taking so people to Rayoung.

Dave,

I live in Phetchabun and I have access to a driver with a very nice Toyota 9 Pass. van that in use to go to Bangkok and other places.  He is vey safe and a very good driver, I feel very safe while in his van.  When I need to go to Bkk or the Airport I charter him for the round trip, He picks me up at my home and drops me off at my home. The charge is Baht 4,500 total. In March I had an occasion to use him to go to the U.S. Embassy for some business. I needed to be in the Embassy by 8:30 A.M. and he picked me up from my home at 11:30 P.M. the night before and waited for my call to pick me up out front of the Embassy about 4 hours later.

I can strongly recommend  his service. If you need his phone number P.M. me
