Anyone interested in joining the Royal British Legion in Bangkok please PM me and I will put you in touch with our Bangkok members. You do not need to have served in the Armed Forces to join and all nationalities are welcome, all we ask is you care for those who have served who are in need.

We only have one trained welfare caseworker at present to cover Bangkok, a training course will be held on my return to Thailand after the Legion Annual Conference, whilst our primary role is the care and welfare of those in need we also have a very active social life with things happening most months, the most recent event being ANZAC Day at the River Kwai with over 80 members in attendence.

There will be an informal meeting in the Londoner Pub at 6.30pm on 31 May to discuss how the Legion can move forward in Bangkok, it will also decide where it will meet and when, perhaps one location or a different one for each meeting. Ladies you are more than welcome, it would be nice to even have a Ladies section.

DUE TO THE ABSENCE OF THE VICE CONSUL THE CONSULATE IN PATTAYA WILL BE UNABLE TO PROVIDE A NOTARIAL SERVICE BETWEEN  24 AND 27 APRIL.THOSE REQUIRING A NOTARIAL SERVICE ON THESE DAYS  CAN EITHER HAVE THIS DONE AT THE BRITISH EMBASSY IN BANGKOK OR AWAIT THE RESUMPTION OF THE SERVICE IN PATTAYA ON 30 APRIL.

WE APOLOGISE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE CAUSED.

-  Immigration has informed us that if anybody wishes to use rental income or private income/investment as part of  
   their finances to extend their visa they would need to provide proof of the income coming into their bank account.
   They must show their lease/rental contracts and bank statements.
   (Original documents are always required, either sent out to your home address or printed off from the bank's       website )

Whilst the Remembrance Sunday Service at the British Embassy has been cancelled due to the flood situation in Bangkok (A small low key service may go ahead), the Royal British Legion Service of Remembrance will still be held at St Nikolaus Church on Friday 11th November, seated by 10:40am, everyone welcome and there will be light refreshments after the service.
Poppy Boxes are out and about in Pattaya and Jontiem along with the dark side. So far this year we have spent almost 500,000 Baht on welfare cases in Thailand, your poppy money is well used.
