Replacing the screen is usually quite easy to do yourself if you can get the part. $50 is about the going rate for a screen for your notebook in the USA. What shipping and import tax would be I've no idea. If you know someone traveling from the USA that would be ideal.

I stayed at the Thong Ta Resort and would recommend it to anyone with a short layover. Transfer was 10 mins in a minibus. Staff were excellent. Room was fine. I went for a bite to eat in one of the restaurants just round the corner and that was also a pleasant experience.

I used agoda to book on line as it was the best price including transfers at the time.

If are going to Korat do you know some one local there? If so you could maybe ask them to get a mini bus to come down for you rather than hope there is a suitable vehicle available when you arrive. I imagine this would be cheaper too.

A Google search for taxi firms will bring up some results, don't discount the Pattaya ones.

Price? 4000 for a mini bus a little less for a seven seated car is an educated guess.

When I called Thai Airways about changing my ticket I was promised that they would call back the next day and email me. I asked that the call be after 2pm, Pacific Time as that is the time zone their office is in, as I am a nightshift worker. They were almost 2 days late returning my call and woke me up by calling at 10am PT. Again I was promised an email but non has arrived. I used the Amadeus code to check the booking and all is well but I'm not impressed with their customer service.
