Hi,
I'm trying to book a taxi from the airport to Samut Songkhram and I'm a little shocked at the prices I'm being quoted. So far I have quotes of 1800, 1900 and 2000 baht and I'm sure I should be able to get a taxi cheaper for a 120km journey. Don't really want to get the bus as I'll have just done an epic journey already.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Thai (Domestic) Excess Baggage?
2011-12-09 11:25:11
Has anyone flown Thai Airways on a domestic flight with excess baggage recently? I was wondering what the charges would be if I had 15kg too much.
Most airline websites have facilities to pre book an extra bag, United will charge me $70 for the international leg of my journey, but I couldn't see anything on the Thai website.

Airport Hotel And Other Stuff

I will arrive from the USA on Christmas eve around 11:30 pm and have a flight to Khon Kaen at 7:00 am. I'm pretty sure that I can't have my bags checked through and will have to pick them up and go through customs at BKK.
Will I be able to check into, and thus get rid of the bags, my Thai Airways flight straight away.
I will have been travelling for over twenty four hours and wouldn't mind a few hours in a hotel bed. I know the Novotel is the closest hotel but I can't justify the price for about five hours. Any one know a good alternative?

Tourist Visa For Usa
2011-02-09 02:03:26
I'd like to help get my wife, sorry girl friend only done the Buddhist wedding, a visa to visit the USA for a family wedding.
I am British and will probably be working in the US on a business visa at the time of the wedding.
Would be hard for me to prove I can support her in the US as my wages are paid in a tax efficient way that makes it look like I earn very little.
Wife is Thai, a housewife who receives a regular allowance of 30,000 baht paid into her bank.
She has no large sum of money in the bank.
She has some land/house in her name all of which was transferred to her name recently.
My sister and her husband both UK citizens living in the States with green cards. Their daughter is to be married in Las Vegas.
A house in/near Vegas has been rented for the wedding and she will stay in my sisters home for the rest of the visit which should last 3 weeks.
She will enter the US on the same flight as either my mother and father.
She has photographic evidence of our "wedding" and the holiday that followed with the whole of the family and holidays with my mother and father since then.
Christmas cards from the family have been kept and she has a wedding invite.
Her passport has evidence of previous travel abroad but only in SE Asia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia x3
I have sent her my old passport which has 30 plus Thai entry stamps and stamps that match her visits abroad.
The wedding is late May.
What chance has she of getting a tourist visa?
Would it be better if we used an agent to help get the visa.
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks in advance

On Nut To Mo Chit?
2010-06-20 17:46:06
On a Monday morning I need to get from my hotel, next to On Nut sky train station, to Mo Chit.
We need to be at the bus station by 8:30 and by we I mean three adults, one aging, and three suitcases and two small bags.
So do we just go by taxi or combination of skytrain and taxi?
How early do we need to set off?
How bad will the traffic be at this time?
Any advice appreciated
All the best
