How will you feel when flights to BKK are 20,000 baht plus? It WILL happen.

I hear what you're saying, but prices can only go so high before people start to make alternative arranngements, ie car, train, bus.

and do the people that run BKK air really care what people think ? , i mean look at the picture from there last board meeting

#5192091 Kids Toy On Samui

...which having to order from bangers ?
Must be an English thing. Like bangers and mash?

T&T in Lamai sells cheap toys mostly related to beach things. Tesco has a wonderful selection of Chinese/Thai rubbish toys....but remember, you buy an expensive and (what you think is) cool toy and the kids end up playing with the cardboard box instead...

....when my wife referred to "Mr Roy" when talking about Manchester United a few years ago I naturally assumed she meant Irish International Roy Kean. The Penny eventually dropped when it dawned on me that she was actually refering to his Dutch team mate Ruud Van "Mr Roy" :)

The law is the law. i think that over staying more than 6 weeks is just ingorant and most otger countries would not have it. a few days can be pu t down to bad luck or a small mistake but 6 weeks it just taking the chocholate digestive. they deserve prison. they need to be reminded that there are laws here and to bring some of their brains with them when they come to Thailand

agree bigc, this aint REd Tape Europe where you can get away with it !, or even better, a nice big house and $1000 dollars a week untill they find out who you are, if you are over, its deportation or the detention centre in BKK, which isnt nice !!!!

still cant understand WHY people can become an overstay? , either pure laziness or just plan dumb !,

NOTE - 1, 2 or 3 days ok , or if you have a medical issue, but 2 weeks and over !

#5107953 New Don Sak Airport In Planning Stages

Posted notime on 2012-03-04 19:09:11

Excellent idea! I have to say that since it was me who came up with it few years ago and "whispered it into an ear" of the Suratthani airport Manager at a coincidental meeting. He was later reported advocating it. What I also had in mind was a "coastal airport" with incorporated fast ferry service to the islands of Koh Samui and Koh Phangan from the airport terminal. I wonder if the current plans also include that. The ferries could be passenger only, no cars, with the travel time to Samui about 40 min and KPG another 20 min. Such regional airport would also boost tourism in Khanom area that has plenty "undiscovered" beaches, jungle covered mountains and caves. Not to mention some prime, beachfront land owned by some of the people involved. The airport in Don Sak would also be acceptable by influential people at BA since they would still be able to claim travel convenience by their "direct" flights to Chaweng village. A win-win solution for everybody so a very Thai solution as well!

#5071087 What To Do In Case Of Not Serious Motorbike Accident?

Posted Rooo on 2012-02-20 11:19:34

How many times do you hear from different countries, that passports have been held by authorities to deter the person from leaving the country? If there is probable cause, they will hold it.
Secondly you have to show just cause of why you need a replacement Passport, they are not just issued . If you have a police matter pending you will not be issued one. If you report it lost & get a police report from another area, this is a criminal act.

yes you can have a gun here, completely legally. there was just an article here on TV about this very subject. you must have a WP, house book, "some assets" to protect, go get fingerprinted and have a police background check.

so many times i've heard people say "you can't collect unemployment/social security/have a gun, you're a farang" and they are wrong nearly every time. i say nearly because i don't have my gun permit yet, i'm just going through the process now to get it.

so we can get unempoyment.social security then!!!!!!!!

So if you get your gun who you going to shoot? a local Thai, guess who will be the next one shot. beggars beleive for me Farangs here want or need guns, use it or pull it on a Thai and you and maybe your family have had it period.
A firearm is for personal protection, you do not have to actually shoot anybody, but if the need arises, it's better you survive to fight another day,
as a local gangster near me says " I don't do dying, that's for other people"
.

#4952853 Bangkok Gun Shops: What's Inside And Why Tourists Can't Buy

Posted DLock on 2012-01-03 22:17:18

If you don't like guns, or are scared of guns, it's pretty simple....don't get a gun.

Me, I like guns. I have 2 fully licensed handguns and shoot at the range regularly. I am permitted to transport my guns in the car - with ammo and clip stored in a locked box and the handguns in a separate locked box.

The police did come to visit with me to review my reasons for wanting a gun and were more than satisfied. I did ask what if someone did enter my property and I shot him. They said 2 things. First, make sure you kill him. Second, put 2 shots into the ceiling and claim that you fired 2 warning shots but he kept coming....just to reduce their paperwork.
