Our pool should be completed within the next month... can anyone recommend a nice pool supply shop in Bangkok? We are looking for poolside furniture (wood, steel or plastic), volleyball net, pool toys for the kids, chemicals, test kits, etc. A one stop shop for everything pool related would be great!
Thanks so much!

Dect (1.9Ghz) Cordless Phones In Thailand
2011-07-27 22:39:32
I've never seen a DECT (1.9GHz) cordless phone for sale in Thailand... and I'm just curious why? Is the 1.9GHz frequency used for something else in Thailand? It seems all you can buy are the dated, single handset 2.4GHz cordless phones which compete for spectrum with your WiFi and microwave oven.
I circumvented this by having my parents bring along a Panasonic DECT system with 4 handsets on their last visit... and it all works great... but I hope I'm not violating any laws by using them.
Is anyone else using DECT cordless in Thailand?

How To Save On The New Us $82 Fee For Additional Passport Pages
2010-07-08 18:44:19
Given the new US passport fee increases... if you need to add additional pages to your passport more than once it's cheaper to just get a new passport!
I just got my replacement passport in April and it came with 42 usable pages (pages 8-49). This replacement passport with 42 usable pages will now cost you $110. The replacement passport came with 42 usable pages without my asking.
Additional page inserts each come with 22 usable pages (pages C-X) and will now cost you $82.
Why pay $164 for 2 additional page inserts (44 additional usable pages) when you can get an entirely new passport with 42 usable pages for $110?
Not only would you save money getting a new passport... you'd also save the additional trip to the embassy for the 2nd page insert.
Am I missing something here?
Does anyone know why the additional page inserts come at such a high premium? Each additional usable page costs $3.73... while the usable pages in a new passport cost $2.62 each. Not to mention that additional page inserts require far less processing time (onsite and often within minutes) and considerably less administration cost than new passports.
