Last time I checked my simple Nokia mobile phone , last week, I had 230 credit from the 1,2 call card deposit. This is a back up phone I dont make
calls on . But I get a lot of messages that are disregarded. Today there is zero credit ???

There is no sign out on the screen

Went up to Bangkok Chinatown to this herb store where they sell bulk ginzing , usually about 300 grams/600 baht.
This time they had a larger package, about one and half times larger for 1100 baht. That seemed a little high so I just handed the Chinese lady  1000 baht and she accepted. Before I left the store I decided to sample a little just to confirm its really ginzing .
While I was about to leave the store after the transaction  the lady walks up to me and gives me 900 baht !. So i got all this ginzing for 100 baht ?
Did not ask any questions and just left the store and caught a bus.
Im just baffled as to why this savey business lady did this. ?
The only explanation can think of is that it was a Buddist Holiday with celebrations in the streets and I had a Buddist flyer in my hand while in the store ?

Given that Thais are nationalistic and the face factor. And given that on a regular basis all types of foreighners , residents and visitors ,complain and criticize Thais and the way they do things in the letters to the dailies and weeklies.and on the discussion forums.
Do theThais resent all this criticism or do they even care ? Im sure the jet ski criminal organization resents this. But what about all the constant criticism of everyday things , like the complaints about the cutting down of the nice trees along the beach in Pattaya
and Jomtien , the garbage , bad service and so on ?.
I could only speculate that Thais do very much resent this . But I dont have any first hand knowledge , because like a certain percent of foreighners here , especially those in Bangkok , Pattaya and Phuket who  by choice have very limited communication with Thais  and live in a parallel Thailand.  By the way I completely agree with all the criticism , so the question is not about it being valid.
