Has anyone here ever lived in Brunei? Is it a decent place? What's the cost of living like? Any stories to tell?
Jurgen Klinsmann Named New Usa Head Coach

Klinsmann takes USA helm

I only post here during tournaments but I'm interested in the full-time, long-time fans opinion on Klinsmann as the new USA coach. Will being a great player translate into a great coach? What do you think?

2011 Samui Regatta Report
2011-06-05 10:00:08
Does anyone have anything to report about the regatta this year? I got to go out on a boat to watch the start on Saturday but we were too far out to see much of anything. Still, it was beautiful weather to go for a little cruise.
I went to the party at KC Resort. At first I was quite angry but it got better as the night went on. The entry price was 1000 baht and the "free" drinks that came with that were roof temperature Grey Goose and Bacardi (and Carlsberg). The only mixers offered were tonic and ginger ale. Fortunately I'm a vodka drinker so I made due. Besides, you shouldn't really ruin Grey Goose with mixers - or too much ice. It's been a long time since I washed down my food with only straight vodka. There was a table of other alcohol for sale but I didn't pay 1000 just to turn around and buy drinks. The food was very good, a decent spread of finger food. By the time the bikini model show started I had gotten more than my entry fee worth of Grey Goose. Despite all the booze, I woke up very early this morning feeling just fine. Unfortunately, I didn't wake up with one of the hot bikini models.
This part I thought was strange. I went to KC with a friend who is a sponsor of the event. He went to KC because he found out only that day that the Gala Awards dinner at the Centara was just going to be for sailors so he couldn't go. I went to it in 2009 and it was fantastic. Much better than the rooftop party at KC so the sponsors got shafted. Anyway, I don't see how sponsors were not allowed in. They paid for it. Sponsors normally get to see first hand where their money goes and how much their business is being promoted, etc. Or maybe the organizers just think of them as donors and not sponsors? I'm sure that will encourage more sponsors next year.
Does anyone else have anything to report? Any crew members on here with some good stories?

When Do I Need To Use My 2Nd Entry Of Tourist Visa?
2011-05-23 18:07:07
I received a double entry Tourist Visa the first week of April. The "enter before" date is Jul 6th 2011. I am currently in Thailand and plan to go to Europe in June and stay until late August or September. So that will be the end of my 1st entry on my double entry visa. Will I be able to enter using the 2nd entry of my Tourist Visa in September or will that have been too long?
Free Vodka With Your Meal...
2011-05-18 16:06:30
I went to this restaurant for lunch today on the ring road on Samui not far from Macro which advertises free vodka when you eat at the restaurant. OK, a free shot of booze, yeah, why not. But wait - it is non-stop flowing ice-cold vodka during the meal. Whoa. I stopped at 3 shots, my friend at four.
Are there any other places that offer anything similar? Free alcohol through-out the meal? Why not? I think we need more places likes that! C'mon bar-owning TV members! Meet the challenge!
