Just a quick update.
I've been using the cable mentioned above for a couple of months now and I haven't had a single issue.
The seller off of the ebay singapore site is hdmihome2010.
They sent the cable from China and on the customs declaration form they just said "gift."
The exact cable that I bought is here.
The price of the cable is about the same as before. US $16.88 S$21.39 or about B500.

YES, it just arrived today. So far so good, got it plugged in and working. The cable isn't branded, but seems to be of sufficient quality. Just hope that it stays working.
The cable took 8 days from ordering off of ebay Singapore to arrival at my door. For 500 baht (including postage etc), for a male to male 10' mini displayport to displayport cable, not bad. Much cheaper then ordering from the states or Europe.
I am used to having 2 monitors, so the whole multi monitor thing isn't new to me. I will mainly be using the 3rd monitor as a tv or for when I play games in the eyefinity 3x1 setup. However, I now have a slight dilema. I was planning on upgrading my cpu and mainboard to the new Intel i7-2600K processor on a p67 chipset. After playing some games with eyefinity, I have realized that the 3 differend sizes of lcd monitors isn't ideal. (22" viewsonic at 1680 x 1050, 26 samsung T260 at 1920 x 1200, 23" dell U2311H) I really like my new Dell u2311H, it is a beautiful monitor. It is also good for the eyefinity setup because it has a thin bezel. So I might get 2 more u2311H monitors. Then upgrade the cpu later.

@negreanu Thanks for the reply, but I don't live close to Bangkok. I haven't had the opportunity to make it to Panthip, plus I have already called the istudio and called Belkin and both said they didn't have the cable I need. I need a mini displayport to displayport. They have mini to mini displayport, but that won't do me any good. They also have adapters from mini displayport to vga or hdmi and also dvi, however, many people have compatability issues with them. Sometimes the AMD gfx cards don't like apple adapters, sometimes it is the lcd that doesn't like the adapter.
I'd rather just avoid the adapters altogether and get the proper cable I need.
As for getting the cable at Aamazon, sure I could have bought the $12 cable, then paid an extra 2000++baht for shipping, duties, taxes etc etc.
So, again, I appreciate the reply but not the condescension.

Just found cables in Singapore on ebay, but all are generic cables. 500Baht delivered to my house is much better then 3000+ baht from sites in the US or Europe. It may be a waste of money, but then again I may end up saving 2500+ baht. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
I'll post again once I get the cable and let people know if it works or not!

Just a quick update on the displayport cable. I still have not been able to locate the male to male mini displayport to displayport cable. I have contacted apple, Belkin, Dcom, Synnex, Advice, Hardware house, JIB and others. I did get some very good and prompt help from the nice people at InvadeIT, but unfortunately they couldn't find me a cable.
I have also just called Gigabyte Thailand (the brand of graphics card I have), and they couldn't help me either. I am aware that they are not in the business of selling cabling etc, but I thought they might know where to get it. I have also called the people at AMD Thailand. The thinking goes that it would behoove them to make sure that the local distributors of their products here in Thailand would have the proper cabling.
They are currently trying to help me find the proper cables, and noted that more displayport cables should be available by the end of January 2011. So, apparently they are trying to get more supplies of the cables here in Thailand. I am holding out hope that I can get a cable locally, before turning to international stores.
