About 11:45 saw a Thai airways flight (not sure if Boeing 777 or Airbus) apparently climbing out of CNX to the N.E. of the city with the landing gear still down some kilometers from the airport.
Could be a training flight or something but I don't believe otherwise it's normal practice? Or was it something else e.g. technical problem, emergency or (hopefully not) dopey crew?

New Minimum Wage In Chiang Mai
2012-03-05 16:32:12
As I understand it, the basic daily minimum wage in Chiang Mai will increase to 251 Bt per day from 1 April (or about 7650 Bt).
That will put quite a few basic staff's current wages under the limit, even many currently paid more than minimum wage. Source: http://www.mol.go.th...nformation/6319
Interested to know what effect this will have on business owners here. Is it going to have an effect or has the high season been so great that no one minds paying extra?

Pizza In Huay Kaew/Nimanhemin Area
2011-06-15 18:15:06
Where is a good everyday option for Pizza in the Huay Kaew/Nimanheminda area? Used to like Rustica but they've gone (as per another thread), Tried Koh Lanta twice, once they were too busy, next time they were shut
Sahara: once bitten, now very shy, it may be cheap but.... Nimman Bar and Grill (Kantary Hills): uninspiring disappointment - steaks and the Buffet used to be good (not been for a while), but pass on the Pizza. Beccofino: Excellent restaurant, never tried the Pizza as too many other delights on the menu, but it's not really an everyday type restaurant.
Sorry to bring up the subject of Pizzas again, and I know there are plenty of other options in town in the tourist places round Thapae, The Dukes, and the other places people rave about or hate on some outer ring road en route to the extremities of the solar system
But, where can I go local to me, when I just want a good honest Pizza? Are there some little gems I'm missing as so much new stuff is springing up in Nimanhemin? Starting to get desparate....

City Now Website

I should preface this with the comment that I'm not getting at City Now/City life and think they have a great website. I know technical gremlins can invade even the best and this issue may not be their fault at all.
Just tried to vist their site using Google Chrome Browser and got the following displayed:
Warning: Visiting this site may harm your computer!
The website at www.city-now.com appears to host malware – software that can hurt your computer or otherwise operate without your consent. Just visiting a site that hosts malware can infect your computer.
For detailed information about the problems with this site, visit the Google Safe Browsing diagnostic page for www.city-now.com.
Following the diagnostics showed the problem seems to have been detected yesterday and goes into more specifics - I won;t repeat them here.
Is anyone else seeing the same problem? Has the site been hacked maybe?
Other browser users should beware as they may not show this warning.
