A banned politician is rehabilitating her political image
when corruption is the dish of the day and she decides
a banned politician is the best choice.
Takes one to know one I guess.
Oh, wait the most important members of her clan are banned,
So why would she think a banned person is bad for her image.
Yes, rotten peas in a pod think alike.

but Thaksin is not in that infamous league... yet.
Elections are by nature yes or no questions for the country.
If it is evenly divided 50 /50 with slight variations periodically,
there will always be half the electorate the other half thinks
makes a mistake for any number of reasons.
Calling it such is not arrogant, but looking at it as fact.
In this case the obvious manipulations and outright lies
used to win the election show as errors.
As to stating opinions.
Every one has one. I have mine.
I need not add an IMHO every time I make a statement of what I have observed and analyzed.
I have stated many good reasons why I have come to my conclusions,
if you don't agree that's your problem not mine.
If you think me arrogant that is also your problem not mine.

You conveniently neglect to mention that many SWIFT transtactions involving Iran violated sanctions agreed to or implemented by the EU. Although SWIFT itself may not be guilty of the initial acts, it is clear that some of its members were and used the SWIFT facility to break EU law. SWIFT claims it was unaware of these sanctions and law violations. As the facility that has enabled the transactions it must take responsibility, particularly since it made money on behalf of its member FIs from these transactions.
I am somewhat surprised that you would rush to the defense of SWIFT as it is often accused by conspiriacy theorists of being part of the illuminati/world domination scheme. So many conspiracy theories to push that people like you sometimes get tripped up.

I have no doubt that anyone who interviews T is given a list of 'no go' topics. I'm sure that any awkward questions would result in the termination of the interview and confiscation of tapes, resulting in the loss of a potential scoop for any budding journalist. Shame T won't go live or on 'Hardtalk' (although it's not what it used to be). Indeed, many TV members could crucify him with a couple of well chosen questions. He probably has nightmares about a live debate with Abhisit, well at least we can hope so

It shows -if that wasn't blatantly obvious already- that he cares more about himself than about Thailand. Thailand needs an Aung San Suu Kyi, someone who doesn't waver also when being under arrest. He/she would be in jail in a second of course, just like they do in Burma with people who don't tout the official line.

I do not believe that it is possible for a country to recognize another country without a number of internal discussions going on and putting the recognition together is not something that happens that quickly. I doubt it is related to the situation with the Lebanese man, but please feel free to prove me wrong.
It was only two months ago that UNESCO had a vote on Palestine becoming a member, and Thailand didn't vote in favor of allowing them in. All that has changed since then was the discovery of 4000kg of bomb making material belonging to a supposed member of Hezbollah in suburban Bangkok

' Thailand is aiding and abetting Hezbollah in terrorist operations on Thai soil.'
The Thai Foreign Minister would pop a blood vessel. The backlash would only make matters worse for Thailand as they have no concept of accepting responsibility for their actions. Much like a 3 year old.

Now your talking and is SOP in the US bag of tricks. How many years has there been a US Embassy travel warnings for Colombia, 20 years?

I won't be holding my breath. The first step is to have a government that is not based on nepotism, cronyism and bribery.
