At last abit of good news! Went down to Wetherspoons today and DIAMOND ALES abound! Adnams had a couple, Diamond 4.1% and Gun Hill at 4.3%, I had Gun Hill , the good news £1.99 a pint. Also noticed a Pedigree Diamond and sveral others maybe I will go again shortly, but tomorrow I am going to a Sam Smiths pub just off Oxford Circus, heaven..............( Still be glad to be back with you lot though) 27'C today.
Sam Smiths prices have gone up over 30% in the last year or so, Old Brewery Bitter 2.72 a pint in Central London, 2.22 outer, and the Royal George in Deptford does both light and dark mild at 1.85!! Still cheap compared to over 90% of places. There is the odd bargain about outside of Wetherspoons and Sams, i.e. The Old Bell in Kilburn usually has a guest bitter on for about 1.80, but these deals are few and far between. (prices as of 2 months ago).

A large LEO in the ''Yellow'' bar in Soi Dawvdeong (sorry about the spelling) 70 baht and a bucket of ice which would do for 2 bottles before it melts now 30 baht. Jools in BKK happy hour (17.00 - 21.00) pint of Heineken 99 baht, normal 120. Robin Hood happy hour (16.00 - 19.00) 90 baht.

Don't know if these prices are good or bad, just musing.

Enjoy the trip.

They will ask you to give an address and phone no., but usually don't need any written proof. (I presume you are happy with a passbook account)

Try a large branch where they will be used to dealing with foreigners.

In the unlikely event that the first attempt fails, just try another branch or bank, SCB Soi Khoatalo are usually OK.

And let us know how you get on.

I was in The Sportsman in Singapore the other night as it goes. At the back of Far East Plaza opposite HQ (Four Floors) if you're looking for it.
I was there a few weeks ago, cheapish by Singapore standards i.e. S$10 a pint happy hour, S$13 otherwise, free mince'n totties Sunday afternoon, live music Fri and Sat nights. 1st floor Far East Shopping Centre (above Harry's Bar). Unfortunately the Scottish owner passed away a few years ago, but it still has the same friendly atmosphere.

Is the Butchers Arms in Soi Bukao, Pattaya, Scottish owned?

There used to be MacAndrews bar Soi 20 somewhere in BKK but no longer there.

Not much help, sorry.

Apparently both Kenny and Rafa have signed up with Sky.

They fit their first dish tomorrow.

Papers today suggest Avram Grant is the favourite.
And how are the most knowledgeable fans in the world reacting to this I wonder.
