Does anybody know if there will be places for public viewing of the games like it was the case in 2010 / 2008 / 2006 ?
Central World maybe ?
Will Pubs / Clubs be allowed to stay open until 3.30 a.m. during those days ?
or what about hotels ? any events at Lobby Bars / Lounges ?
it's more fun to watch in company than at home.....

Any Public Viewing / Big Screens In Bkk For Euro 2012 ?

Own A Tab Now, But Who Will Teach Me Android ?
2012-02-06 21:26:52
Okay, so now I hold this brand-new Samsung TAB in my hands, allegedly the most sophisticated Android Tab on the market so far (7.7), and actually not available in Thailand yet (but regarding software, nearly the same as the 7" and the 10.1)
How lovely !
Sadly, I have absolutely NO CLUE how to use any kind of Smartphone/Tablet.
I was never able to connect a mobile phone to the internet via WAP, never used any WiFi with a phone, even miserably failed to download a ringtone :-/
So now I am looking for a (Thai?) person with both a lot of Knowledge in Android/Samsung as well as PATIENCE who can give me lessons how to use this little Sweetie.
I am based in BKK but would not mind to go to PTY for a few days. 3-4 hrs a day or so, for a couple of days if needed, at any time of the day.
cost must be reasonable as my budget is limited, that's why I wonder if anybody knows a Thai student maybe, who is a techno-geek and could do this to earn a few Extra-Baht. the good thing is: I am not outright stupid when it comes to Computers/IT, I just need someone to teach me properly, then I will usually learn quickly.
If anybody thinks he can help me with that or give me a hint, then pls send me a PM or post something here.
I could start tomorrow as I already own the device. At any coffee-shop, hotel lounge or whereever suitable.
I can go almost anywhere if necessary...

12 Hours On Board Of A 2Nd Class Daytime-Seater-Train In Thailand
2010-12-10 19:01:44
need to travel from Chiang Mai to BKK on Monday, and due to the long weekend, all flights are either full or ridiculously expensive (even Orient Thai charges 3.500 one-way).
As expected, overnight trains are all full too. I am now considering to take the daytime-train in the morning, which is an entirely 2nd-class-seater train and arrives at BKK shortly after 8 p.m.
I never did such a long train ride in Thailand in 2nd class and particularly not during daytime with reclining seats only and no bed.
anyone did this before ? Is is endurable or just outright grueling ? I have quite some luggage too and wonder if there will be space to store it in an overhead bin or not.
the saving is almost 3.000 Baht so I would be willing to tolerate some ordeal - to a certain degree, that is.
I do NOT want to take any Bus, be it VIP or not, so please do not recommend that.

Where To Find Help With Data-Rescue/Recovery ?
2010-12-06 19:14:11
I have a 16 GB USB-stick (actually quite new and a quality-product - so I thought) full of photos.
now the stick is not being recognized anymore by both my Comp and my netbook.
does anybody know if there is someone in BKK who is a specialist with data-rescue / recovery at an affordable rate ?
I mean, not that my life depends on those pics, but it would be a sad thing to lose many of them (parts of them have been backed-up before, but many have not)
thanks

Quality Laundry In Pty ?
2010-12-01 12:55:23
Hello,
can anyone recommend a high-quality laundry in PTY ( no dry cleaning). I know there are hundreds and they are cheap, but as I am not a resident in this city, I don't know which one can be trusted and which one has a talent to damage my shirts.
I have some nicer and more expensive Shirts that I need to get laundered and ironed, and I wouldn't mind to pay a little more than the usual 30-50 Baht per Kilo to get it done properly. pay-per-piece would be fine.
I know I could get it done in a Deluxe-hotel, but as these are almost 10 Shirts, I don't wanna pay 100-150 Baht each (and even there is no guarantee that some moron doesn't damage my shirts or doesn't know how to iron properly)
any suggestions / recommendations would be appreciated.
as I do not have my own transport here, it should be located on the Baht-Bus-Route, anywhere between Jomtien and the Dolphin Roundabout in North PTY
