These two conmen are exactly as depicted in the articles that were written about them. Neal is always in the bars in Rawai especially the Corner bar wich has become his new hang out looking for young girls to impress. They have left so many people in a bad situation over here on the island and still live the luvish lifestyle that Phuket has to offer without a care in the world. They do think they are above the law through everything they have done and keep on doing (or so they think) and give Brits a really bad name. But i think Phuket has got a good strong expact community that will be able to flush these guys off of the Island and even out of Thailand. This Island and Thailand has had a rough run as is this year and the bad press that these two charecters are bringing to light about Phuket doesnt help at all. Let us stand together as an expact community against people like these two. If they could be made an example of think what that could mean for the future.

Well said and I totally agree. I can't believe the local expats are happy to just let these people carry on with their lives as if they had done nothing wrong. As I said before, if they were 6' 4" skin head thugs then I could understand it a bit more if people wanted to pretend they didn't exist, but to stand by and do nothing while these fat old scum bags run amok is madness.

Just simple things will help. Why doesn't someone just stand on a chair in the bar, point him out and tell everyone in the bar what he gets up to. You see how long it takes for his suave, confident demeanor to disappear  If one of the regulars did that every time he walked through the door.

Most bars have a group of regular expats who know the owners well. If you all got together and had a word, it shouldn't be too hard to make it so they simply weren't allowed in most of the bars in the area they live.

Like I said before, if you really wanted to make people aware of them, you could put warning posters up in every 7-11 window, on every telegraph pole outside   well used business' etc etc.

If all else fails you have the good old fashioned, hood over the head, bundled in the back of a pick up and taken for a quiet word some where to try and educate them to the error of their ways.

These people rely 100% on the apathy of others. If you don't give them it they are screwed.

“Like I said before, if you really wanted to make people aware of them, you could put warning posters up in every 7-11 window, on every telegraph pole outside well used business' etc etc.”

Hab mmmmm...you missed out the leaflet drop from your Hot Air Balloon, after which you could disgrace the alleged crims by shouting through a loud hailer accompanied by vigorous finger pointing whilst hovering overhead...yep, that should do the trick...Posted Image

The thing that amazes me about these kinds of people is there complete lack of fear of physical retaliation. You can understand it when big skin head thugs feel confident when they rip people off, but a couple of fat, old, middle aged men who most people could spank senseless! It amazes me they get away with it for as long as they do.

Someone should put posters up in all the bars in the south. Make their faces known and completely unwelcome wherever they try to drink. Phuket being so small, it would be very easy to run a couple of dicks like that off the island for good.
Speaking from personal experience, they 'get away with it as long as they do', in large part, with the acquiescence of their peers.

In all my years here on Phuket, I have yet to hear any condemnation of this type of behaviour anywhere. It's simply not spoken of. It seems to be a case of 'well we're all in this together' an 'us against 'them' mentality which appears to pervade, in particular, a certain mindset. Together, of course, with a need to not be seen as raising one's head above the parapet, coupled with a very strong 'what's in it for me element'. After all, these two men are hardly thin on the ground here, are they?

Sorry, I couldn't reply to this straight away, I had to get my dictionary out for the word 'acquiescence'. Every day's a school day. Posted Image

Maybe you're right, but I think that will have something to do with what I said earlier about them selecting specific targets. I believe conmen will always pick their 'mark' carefully. They will look for traits that will make them confident they are dealing with weak minded people who will be too timid to put up a fight when they know they have been ripped off. That is why so many victims are elderly.

I hope that's the case anyhow. I would like to think there are enough people out there that are man enough to confront them if the opportunity arose. I personally wouldn't be able to keep quiet if they walked in a bar I was drinking in and they haven't ripped me off, so I very much hope someone who they had ripped off would do the same.

As for how prevalent they are I wouldn't know. I keep myself to myself, and I'm highly allergic to bull shitters, so when people like that start talking to me I normally make my excuses and slide down the bar long before they've tried to sell me something.

“I normally make my excuses and slide down the bar long before they've tried to sell me something.”

Wot? ...and deprive them of one of your famous linear 3 hour lectures?...Posted Image

Disgusting story. Hardly less disgusting that some on this forum dare to condone murder for the reasons given.

No-one here is condoning murder that i have read, only that we shouldn't be surprised when this happens.

It seems that a whole culture of tearing out Farang's hearts for the money is becoming normal, and with that a whole lot of emotion that can, for some, be overwhelming when they realized that they have been conned.

Nobody wants to see murder happen, but just the same, i do not feel any pitty for the woman when this happens.

Play the game and suffer the consequences, it is their own greed that really destroyed them, not the knife, gun, whatever.

Perhaps if they actually had a brain they could learn from these terrible murders that are becoming more and more regular.

I wholeheartedly concur with your views in this matter. They were both responsible for their own actions that led to this happening, and no amount of kraut bashing or odious whining from the condolence mafia will change anything. From what has been produced so far as ‘evidence’ would appear to show that it was not premeditated and the lad just snapped – it happens. I pity him, not her.

Totally disgusting.Just carry on exploiting these poor people and heaven forbid letting them have few days off to enjoy themselves.
He says in another local news source that quote"We just can't take the risk"Governor Tri told a meetingat Provisional Hall in Phuket City "A Burmese concert has never been held anywhere in Thailand. If something went wrong, it would seriously damage Phuket's image.
Phuket.s image what a joke.Phuket's image is already damaged by all the reports of tuk tuk ,jet ski scams and rip offs that are never nor ever will be addressed.Pity he can not ban theses so easily.
Funny I have found quite a few articles related to Burmese concerts in Thailand, this being the last one  http://www.mizzima.c...ng-concert.html
Maybe if it had been allowed it may have helped Phuket's image.
Oh and this is the sixth year he has not allowed it.

You can blame people for their actions or inactions, but you can't blame him for the actions of his predecessors.

Posted Image Predecessors? Where does he do that? He’s clearly quoting the current Guv and his inaction for the last 6 years.
