though the woman has insisted that she does not want to be hospitalised

In cases like this it is entirely possible that the lady in question is unable to make the rational and correct decision. As symptoms of advanced HIV / AIDS can  include dementia, the loss of some mental faculties and general deterioration in the brains capacity

If a mad man claimed he had wings and could fly, should he be allowed to jump from the tallest building or should those of better judgment and experience intervene on his behalf and save him from a certain death?
Some posters do not seem to grasp some nomal siuations, I agree with you there are so many very sick cases out there, and too many too sick to understand what is best for them.  I only hope that If I am in the situation and not good in my thoughts-someone will come along and do what is best for me.  whether it be to put me DOWN or make me well.

"You can't let a human being die on the street"

Well, apparently you can. The article provides an illustration of palliative care and mental health resources for Thailand's poor and destitute.

#5320251 Thailand's 2011 Annual Tourism Income Rises 30%

Posted Moruya on 2012-05-21 21:09:25

Well done Aphisit and co. for a tremendous tourism 2011 in the face of adversity.

Also in this week's news.

Red Shirts turn on Thaksin and his TRT,  PPP, PTP natiionalistic Shinawatra, Damapong dynasty administration for using them as tools. TV forum says "told you so".

Reds beaten by Blues. The massive Red Shirt rally on Saturday was in fact beaten by the number of people who turned out to welcome Chelsea's parade bus following their Champions League victory.

Australian tourists on sex holidays to Thailand catch diseases through unprotected sex in what must be one of the shocks of the decade. Slip, slapper, slop guys!

Along with incredible news from the tourist sector Thailand's economy recovered from the Q4 flood-related slide to a Q1 recovery clawing back a bit more than the ground it had lost. Thanks you Australia. Buy a few more condoms next time.

Jatuporn, arch villain, provoker of arson and all round chump was apparently relieved of his MP status for failing to vote in the last election. He failed to vote because he was in prison and was not granted bail. He was in prison for a clear case of LM for which he had been mysteriously absolved earlier in the week. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. He will now be able to spend a bit more time on his favourite passtime - burning down shopping centres.

Miracle Thailand arrives in Britain's gay capital. A Thai transgender wins a beauty competition in Brighton beating 200 other participants. Note to judges - you'd better think twice before visiting Bangkok

Just to show that it's not all doom and gloom for Thai shoppers, Mama Instant noodles will freeze their prices for 4 months. Eat your hearts out merchants of doom - its healthier.

Thailand's taxi drivers havent quite got the hand of credit cards. Apparently nobody told them that when you spend money on the cards you have to pay it back.

#5318293 Energy Credit Card Fails To Tackle The Real Issue: Thai Opinion

The Government today announced that it is changing its symbol for Parliament to a Condom because it more accurately reflects the Governments political stance.

A Condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of Dicks, and gives you the feeling of protection while you're actually being screwed.

dam_n; it just doesn't get more accurate than that !

I just wish ALL the MPs would get on with running the country instead of trying to put each other in jail. Run the frigging country for Gods sake!

#5285469 Phone Call Prices Too High: Thailand Development Research Institute

Director Deunden Nikomborirak said that given Thai mobile communication business is not fully liberalized, calling prices for both mobile phones and landlines are about four times as high as those in other countries.

Maybe he needs to check out Belgium for instance. Maybe he will change his mind about phone call prices being four times as high as those in other countries.

Wow! So we should tell him not to lower the price of phone calls in a country like Thailand because in Belgium they're more expensive? I guess Belgium's 3G/4G service is just as poor as Thailand's, and the local Belgian earns about the same, too.

The price of calls and internet packages are a rip off here. I use a modern BB but still can't use 3G with AIS 'cos of the software version on my phone.

"Let's lower the prices of calls, etc and provide a better service" Hold the phone! Let's see what they're charging in 'BELGIUM!'

What an utter load of cock.  The Thai Government have delusions of astronomic proportions.  How can they spout this load of rubbish?  Another example of their over inflated opinion of themselves that transfers to the rest of the Thai population giving Thailand a bad name

The court initially sentenced Chinnicha to two months in jail but suspended the jail term for a year on the grounds that she has never been in prison.

I especially like this comment. Does it mean suspended because she doesnt have a criminal record of just because she hasnt been before, its only fair that she doesnt go at all.  LOL bless her.

England was pretty much the same, 40 years ago. I don't see the problem really. It's just a time-warp for me. That's why I came here. Don't worry too much, ten years from now Thailand will be the same as England is now, and England will be somewhere else.

The price one pays for a bit of freedom without government intrusion into every aspect of one's life.  Rather have dangerous streets during holiday celebrations than big brother constantly breathing down our neck telling us how to live our lives and what we can and cannot do without bodies.
