I missed the last week of AUA Chiang Mai's Reading and Writing for beginner's Course due to other duties in Bangkok, but would nevertheless like to continue my studies.
Did anybody take that course with KHRU ORANUT (that's the old lady who takes great pleasure in treating you like a primary school student - but her teaching-pattern as well as her printed handouts were good nevertheless) and would mind to send me a copy of my missing pages (from page 37 onwards - probably just 6 or 7 pages missing).
Of course I will cover your expenses. If someone can do that, please send me a PM.
Please, I am only talking about THIS SPECIFIC COURSE and THIS SPECIFIC teacher and HER SPECIFIC HANDOUTS, so no need to suggest other learning material at this moment (as I have tons of it already)
Thank you very much

Learning Burmese In Thailand (Bkk, Cm Or Pty). Possible ?
2010-12-16 19:00:31
I am considering to start learning Burmese.
Is there any language school in Bangkok, Chiang Mai or Pattaya which offers that a a reasonable rate ?
I could go to Burma too for a while, but there will probably be an issue to get a longstay Visa for 2-3 months or so.

How To Buy A Ticket For A 3Rd Class Commuter Train In Bkk
2010-12-07 13:01:58
I have used the train in Thailand on several occasions, but for long-distance only, and never tried the often overcrowded 3rd-class commuter trains (for example, to go to or from Rangsit, Hua Takhe or else).
But as the fare from the nearest station here where I live to Hua Lamphong is just 2 (two) Baht, and at 30 minutes traveling time is BY FAR the fastest way to get there as well, I want to give it a try sometimes.
The question is: How to buy the ticket for such a train. Many of those small stations seem to have nothing else than a platform (no roof either) and obviously no ticket booth. is there a conductor on board ?
is there anybody who uses those trains once in a while and can clarify that ? Thanks

Anybody Else Want To Go To Chao Phraya For The King'S Birithday Celebration ?
2010-12-04 11:33:20
Is there anybody going to see the Celebrations tomorrow ?
Every year I tell myself I should go and see it at least one time (after all, the King will be 83 already tomorrow!), but never actually made it.
Is anybody going or can at least provide some information WHEN to go (schedule of events/performances), WHERE to go (to avoid the biggest masses and to have a nice view) and WHAT is worth seeing.
maybe we can find a few members here to go there together ? would be more fun.
still 24 hrs to go, so I will check this topic or my PM's later in the evening and tomorrow morning

Airasiax: Soon To Fly Kul To New Zealand / Christchurch
2010-11-30 10:34:41
Air AsiaX announced that they will start selling tickets for flights to their new destination CHRISTCHURCH soon, so watch out for their promotions, or better sign up to get a reminder a few days before the sale starts.
I did like that in late 2008 when they started selling tickets to Melbourne, and managed to fly KUL-MEL return for less than 150 Euro (incl. luggage and Taxes) in October 2009.
So now it's time to travel even further and see zillions of sheep.... no more Carabao.... ^^
