Cheap Charlies In Pattaya Exclusive Thread

2010-09-21 21:47:26

I will kick this off with four Cheap Charlie Tips:

1. Always use an AEON ATM. You would be amazed at how many people don't do this, usually due to the sheer laziness of refusing to travel to one of the three ATM points in Pattaya. Think ahead (Don't use that 7-11 ATM)!

2. Always check out the meat & poultry & fish fridges at TOPS supermarket after 5.00pm. There are red 'reduced' tickets with anything between 40%-70% off sell by dated foods. Buy it up and throw it in the deep freeze. Great bargains to be had, especially steak.

3. If you drink Chang switch to Red Horse, it is 3 baht per bottle cheaper or 45 baht per case cheaper than Chang. That represents a saving of over 1000 baht per month. Plus it is 0.5% stronger than Chang.

4. Buy the extra large super-sized packs of cheap toilet tissue from Carrefour. It doesn't matter what you use in the bathroom for your bum and forget boxes of tissues on the household tables, simply put a cheap toilet roll in a fancy dispenser.

Quick Question About Tourist Visa

2010-08-31 17:38:04

A friend of mine is over on a 60 day tourist visa. How soon can he pay the 1900 Baht and extend it for a further 30 days at Jomtien Immigration?

Removals Service In Pattaya?

2010-08-22 16:26:47

I want to remove a load of gear from my apartment in Pattaya to Isaan (near Koen Kaen). It's not really enough for a big van, it's about three pick-ups worth of stuff. Has anyone got any suggestions here in Pattaya?

I don't want to hire-drive a vehicle in Thailand. Are there any local taxi firms who have a van etc. can anyone can suggest something?

Thanks is advance for any replies.

Underline Function

Three times now after I have replied in a topic, I choose to underline a word, then my whole post is deleted and it is really annoying because sometimes the reply has taken about 10 minutes and is a few hundred words, lost forever.

Cheese Slices In Thailand

2010-08-15 18:23:18

I have been buying the processed cheese slices in Thailand for +9 years now and I always notice the same problem: I have tried almost every brand (of which there are many).

After removing the plastic wrapping and placing the cheese on toast or a muffin, during eating I always experience tiny bits of plastic in my teeth.

I assume that removal of the plastic leaves behind a residue of very tiny plastic strands.

Am I alone in noticing this?
