One Year ago I had the good fortune ( so i thought) to obtain 25 2 week old chicks
which after numerous discussions with Andy Crosby were identified as Warrens
It took them 9 months to Produce the first egg withthe right food being the main concern
although I was starting to believe that the chickens themselves were of poor quality
I had the fortune to get from Andy 2 17 week Rhode Island Red Males which were
put with the Warren
After 6 weeks together I decided to try to Incubate eggs and 2 months later from 180
I have 12 chicks plus 5 which were very weak and did not survive and 2 born with deformities
the rest were unfertile
From the most recent 20 eggs only 3 were fertile
From 3 months of egg production from 20 hens am averaging just over 7 eggs per day
I have now reluctantly decided to stop trying to breed
These Hens are of poor quality,and once the 14 week old Rhode Island Reds start to
produce eggs The Warrens unless egg production increases will be culled
and plenty chicken stews will be on the menue in my wifes restaurant.
Mo matter how much food they are given and what nothing improves the output.
A experience I feel others should be warned about if they are thinking of keeping

Just Wondering if anybody knows if there is
somewhere I can go to in Chaingrai to look at
some and Buy one
Took a risk and bought one from Bangkok from
CP Sunteck
Service and delivery was excellent but although it
holds 168 eggs its made good enough when it
comes to turning the eggs as it is not strong enough

Can anyone advise if Immigration will be
in Central Plaza tomorrow

Where Not To Eat Near Thoeng

Had the misfortune today to decide to go out to Lunch
with another Farang and respective wives
Our first port of call was a small place in town opposite
the college going out of Thoeng towards Chaing Khulm
but this was closed today because of death in owners
family
So we drove another 10o meters down the road where
you can turn right towards Longchere
You cant miss the turning because of its diobolical first
50 metres.
Travelled about 7 k until there is a entrance on the right
just before the road bends into a restaurant by a lake.
Todays visit not the first but definatley the last
First we made the mistake of asking if they did French Fries
instead of Rice which my wife translted to them as Man Falang
Yes was the answer
What did we get 2 x 20 Baht Packets of Lau Crisps fried in Batter.
My Friends Pork was just about passable but the trippings were not
My Chicken comprised of Gristly bits which were uneatable
transpired that the main cook was not there today and seeing
Farangs thought they could serve poor standard
Complaining was not a option as there was no one there who
could speak english and our wives did not want to lose face
and adopted the It does not matter attitude
Needless to say the party planned to be there later this week will be elsewhere
with another Farang and respective wives

I live in Thoeng in Chaingrai Province and am looking for help in Breeding

We have a part furnished house available buit in 2009 which has about 8 Pens currently
empty as it has been occupied for the past 6 months with my wifes daughter
( Say No More)
My wife wants to run a small fertiliser shop and small low key food cafe which she will
