#5152815 14 Year Old Malaysian Girl Kidnapped For Prostitution Is Rescued In Bangkok

I fear for the girls future. If she is Muslim then returning home will be a catch 22 for her. Who will marry her, how will the family actually react? Sadly if she belonged to a Saudi family they would simply disown her now. Fingers crossed that her Mum and Dad put parenting before religion.

Judging by your comments, you obviously do not know much about Malaysia.

#5090110 Worried About Malaysia

. . . continued - so many points to address:

Perhaps you should stay at better hotels, especially as pork seems to play a massive role in your life and diet - nothing wrong with that, and I'm not being facetious.

Quote

What proportian of non-Chinese restaurants in KL would serve pork?

Again the pork thing . . . wow, are you Danish?  If not then I would suggest you live in Denmark - largest pork exporters in the world.
Right - what proportion?  No idea, but we had lunch at a German place the other day - yes, pork knuckle and veal sausages . . .

I am sure the sausages weren't halal but I can't be sure as there is no difference in taste between halal and non-halal meat.
I would suggest you stay away from the Muslim places if you want pork, which you seemingly do for every meal - as for the others . . . give it a try, most are non-halal.
Oh, to throw a spanner into the works, quite a few restaurants are pork-free but not halal . . . and Muslims have no problem eating there.
Actually, my favourite char kwei teow is made by a Malay and he uses non-halal meat, but doesn't use pork.

Confusion, confusion

I can really see that pork and the halal issue is very important here . . . and if it really is a matter of needing pork everywhere at any time then Malaysia isn't for you - I guess no country is, really.  This, along with cheap beer and even cheaper Thai whores and I guess Thailand is the place to stay.

Suits me, really . . . and the tens of thousands of westerners living here already  :)

When China protests because the Japanese prime minister goes to visit the grave of WWII criminals, to make the point more clear like if the German chancellor went to pay respect to the grave of Adolf Hitler and other Nazi dignitaries, who in the west support China ?

What do we know in the west about the rape of Nanjing ?

Why do we expect more cultural sensibility from Asian people that we have in the west for Asian culture ?

As a German i feel ashamed. Sorry.

You are a German of this generation. You should have no reason to be ashamed. The evil was commited by past generations.

However your people are well aware of the evils of Naziism and Hitler's rule and have strict rules regarding Nazi symbolism and its abuse.

That would also apply to Japanese people. They understand history. Thais have yet to learn.

I am interested that you believe that the Japanese understand history. If you mean by wiping history out of the classroom they understand it, then yes, you are correct. No Japanese children are taught anything of WW2 that bears any resemblance to actual events, nor are they told of the rape of Nanking and other atrocities that were inflicted on the Chinese by the Japanese.

I find the whole Thai thing with the shirts a bit funny and ironic. I am amazed (but shouldn't be) at the amount of TV members that have jumped on the outrage bus, that in itself is pathetic. The only comments worthy of merit or relevance are the ones by Geriatrickid concerning copyright issues.

Maybe the youth see Hitler as someone they can relate to as in the not too distant future Thailand may have its own Hitler in the form of Thaksin. Very similar backgrounds really, risen to power from nothing, both holding lowly positions as Corporal, one in the army one in the police, and very skilled manipulators of public opinion and crowd behaviour.

For those it applies to, please stop going on about use of the swastika on helmets and stuff in Thailand. LONG before Hitler got hold of the symbol it had been in use already for a couple of thousand years in the esoteric religions of Asia. It is an important Hindu symbol and means eternity and Buddhism in China.
