Can someone tell me if there is a minimum teaching hours requirement for those getting the non-immigrant B based on teaching? Is a teaching schedule a paper requirement for the visa / extension of stay? Or is a simple 'full time' all this is necessary even though the 'teacher' doesn't teach at all or only a few hours a week, and the rest is administration work?
Thanks...

Raised Pickups
2012-04-07 14:39:35
Have noticed a few raised pickups on the road. Moderate raise looks fine, though some high raises...well. Anyone ses the isuzu v-cross on raised suspension at the show. Looks pretty cool, though quite expensive. Would need side steps which that didn't have. How do the BiB / land transport department view such vehicles? I'm assuming wheel / tire / suspension and possibly drive train warranty would be out the window, but don't want to spend over 100K just to be pulled over every 5 mins! Anyone know legal raised heights for these vehicles, if any? With the number of rangers/bt50's to be on the roads, none needs to stand out;)
Painting The Walls - Flood Repairs.
2011-12-11 11:06:29
Hi I'm looking for some advice from the painters out there. Labour costs have gone up since the floods so I'm intending to do some of the exterior painting myself. I know the usual procedure for bare concrete would be sealer / primer / then the paint, but what if the walls are already painted? Can I sand is a little to make it smooth then put the paint straight on, or is the primer also needed?
If I use filler, which I will need as some paint has already come off to the concrete, do I put on the sealer, followed by filler, sand it, then primer then paint?
If anyone has advice I'd be glad to hear from you.
Any what is the best brand of exterior paint to use here in Thailand?
Thanks..

Flooded House!
2011-11-07 17:46:34
Well looks at some stage we might be able to get back into our house to start cleaning it. About the lower 30 cm of the wall paper will be dirty/ruined. The builtins / kitchen will be stuffed as well. I'm thinking or removing the lower portion of the wallpaper and replacing with a row of tiles - nice ones. Just incase of more flooding and don't want to remove all the wall paper. We might later cover that with timber veeneer as the wallpaper and underlying concrete isn't that great anyway. Are there any good methods / products for removing wallpaper from concrete, bearing in mind its the water proof cleanable type.
I'm assuming we should use a lot of bleach or other disinfectant for cleaning the floors - any suggestions? Thinking of buying a high power cleaner too.
Best of luck to everyone else cleaning up their place.

Pickup Whistling Sound
2011-11-06 16:22:32
Just saw a pickup today, think it was a 2 door isuzi. Made this unusual whistling sound. I've heard that a few times before on other pickups - often accompanied by lots of smoke!. It seemed to have been modified - going by the 'ecu shop' sticker on the window. Any idea what causes the whistle - he wasn't going fast either and think it was a diesel, not a transplant of a petrol engine. Any ideas?
