Two things occurred to me when reading this story:
i - The lengths people will go to in order to remain solvent in SE Asia.
ii - The Indonesian newspaper journalists seem to have a better sense of humour than those employed in Thailand, certainly the expat newspapers in Pattaya anyway.

Bbc Doc. On Bangkok Riots 1 Yr Ago
2011-09-06 09:09:52
I was in Jakarta over the week-end. Whilst there I watched a documentary on the BBC World channel on the Red Shirt riots in Central Bangkok; follow-up investigation into the shootings and the recent elections.
It covered a lot of familiar ground but did have some interesting interviews with some of the key players plus the victims families (whom I had not seen interviewed before).
Presented by Feargal Keane it left rather a large number of questions unanswered.
Was this programme shown in Bangkok ?

Bangkok Agent For Chinese Visa
2011-08-17 07:52:44
Next month I will be in Thailand for about a week and need to apply for a Chinese Business Visa.
I will have the neccessary letter of invitation, flight tickets, forms etc. but I would like to spend most of this week outside BKK and do not want to visit the Embassy in person.
Can anyone recommend a reputable agent in Bangkok that can process this application for me ?
Lower Sukh area would be even better.
Thanks in advance,
Simon

Pattaya Marathon 2011
2011-01-26 13:15:35
Can anyone advise a firm, scheduled date for the Pattaya Marathon in 2011.
I think it is usually held during the 2nd or 3rd week of July but I re-collect that this local event may be combined with an Asian championship event this year.
I want to have a crack at this race so would like to know the date to do some longer-term planning and start my 18 week training schedule at the right time.
Thanks in advance,
Simon
