National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) lecturer Piyanuch Potawanich warned that the launch of the Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2015 would lead to more foreigners using nominees to own Thai land, especially Singaporeans, who were smart, had money and needed to invest for profit. Among many solutions, she also urged laws to punish nominees and deport any foreigners who do wrong.
That's an interesting point.
With the AEC around the corner it may be possible to use a Singaporean as a nominee to buy Thai land. It's also probable that you could enforce the nominee status in Singapore.

Anki is total garbage. Instead of wasting time faffing around with that you'd be better off sticking post-it notes in a good textbook, or using a pen and notebook.
Great advice.
Anyway...most language learners swear by Anki and SRS.
If you search Thai and sort by downloads, you'll see the most useful packages.

get David Smyth's teach yourself Thai book; an absolute god-send. the first and still the best thai - english book ive read. has excellent sections on how to know which tone.
There's a few errors in the new edition. Vowels missing in the index, transliteration incorrect etc. Best getting the edition before the current one, the content is almost identical anyway.
