I think he meant 'reaches Nirvana'. Another way of saying "passes away", "goes to heaven" or put more simply, dies.

Not sure if MadYank will have plenty of time for playing poker though, but can you imagine all the free sex he will be getting? Think of it, him being approached by the other inmates, "playfully" asking for sex, night after night, and no switchblade at hand... (at least, not his hand).
