Not had that, but they did sting me for £88 on overweight luggage. I packed the usual 30kg that Emirates allow me only to be told it was 23kg with Etihad. They only charged me for 4kg but at £22.00 per kg.

After complaining about this I did get an upgrade to Emergency exit seats which would have cost me over £100.00.

If you want to get the 30kg allowance, join thier miles club.

You raise a couple of issues on which I have queries
1) I am a member of their miles club. Would they give me the additional weight allowance if I choose to allocate the miles earned on the flight not my etihad membership but to one of their partner airlines?
2) I've never been offered a chance to buy an emergency exit seat - by any airline. Are you sure of this?

Thanks. Any recommendarion of a specific name among those nearby hotels r a website? Otherwize I'll be googling for this.

google Thong Ta Bangkok.

I have stayed there a few times, and it is excellent value, with plenty to do nearby the evening before your flight.

Only downside is that you will probably need to leave the hotel before the kitchen opens for the "free" included breakfast.

Thanks a lot for the name and recommendation. Is there a massage place nearby? It'll be my last such for a month and besides it would be a good way to relax before turning in.

Thank you for the above information. Is there any other way to get get to Swampy from downtown by say 5AM other than by taxi?

The airport express won't do it, which is why I asked the initial question.

I've had no problems finding a taxi to the airport when I catch the first flight out of DM or Swampy. There's always a taxi nearby and if not the hotel porters easily rustle up one in minutes.

Traffic is light at that time of the morning and my experience from lower Suk via tollway is aprox 30 minutes althought i usually allow 1 hour just to be on the safe side.

Edit - There are a number of small boutique hotels a short distance away from Swampy that offer free pick up and return that may be more suitable for your needs.

Thanks. Any recommendarion of a specific name among those nearby hotels r a website? Otherwize I'll be googling for this.
