I went to one of your parties in Surin and although we obviously spoke to the people we were sharing a table with, that was the extent of it....ie: each table kept to themselves and at the end of the evening my wife and I felt "was it worth travelling for".
I really think that if you are going to host these parties then more of an effort needs to be put in to integrate the participants.
Having said that I am the first to admit that I am not the best at socialising and am always the quiet one sitting on my own in a bar.....but that is what I mean in the previous sentence, I need a push to get going and I suspect many others do too.
For instance when you work for a big company and go to a training session you start the day off with some silly games or competitions. They seem stupid at first but the point is they get everybody talking, laughing and getting to know each other, and then people are far more reticent when it comes to the serious stuff.
When it comes to refreshments if there is free beer then I would drink it....if I have to pay for the beer then I would drink it also, this would have no effect on my decision whether to go or not.
Anyway you asked for opinions and thats my feelings, so I am still openminded at the moment.
Good luck.
