When California Wow promised lifetime membership they forgot to include a definition of the meaning of lifetime
Mind you, that is all in the name of sport as members, with the closure of 4 clubs in Bangkok, are left with no choice but walking miles to the Siam Paragon and Pinklao clubs: that is positive health wise.
As a gesture the annual renewal of the life membership card, set at one hundred baht per annum, is valid, this year for two years.....if renewed this month.
What I have never understood is that appetite for new clubs, even though some were showing signs it was not going to work
Why did the management engage a race with other fitness centres when it should have been sufficient to keep a couple of clubs running: they would have been at the top.
Ego....maybe the answer
I guess some of us will just have to go to these other brands as they are closer to our homes
One thing though, how can a club like Pattaya survive the crisis when the frequent action is not that high, compared to Silom? Rent expenses doesn't explain it all
This is not a thread about "how can one expect to have a lifetime membership" but rather understand the process of self inflicted wounds leading to suicide by companies like California Wow

Near Legal Matter/Friendly Advice Needed
2012-05-17 13:16:42
Hey
In 1997 I put down some money to buy a condo
A year later the company declared bankruptcy
I sued them and the court rueld in my favour ordering the payment of the sums paid as well as the 7.5% per annum interest, in November 2002
This rdecision is up posed to be ad vitam eternam but it seems to be applicable for only ten years, which still leaves me some to time to react
A couple of weeks ago I passed the construction site to see that it was finished
Therefore I searched the net and found that a group had approached the board of consumers in 2000 who ordered the mother company (listed on the stock exchange) to refund the deposits made.
Furthermore I was able to find a report of the general meeting of that later company, dated 2011, where shareholders were pushing for the refund accordingly to the court's decision.
Considering the situation I think that I should try to get what I am owed
The problem is: how to go about it knowing that I have already won the case and do not want to start a legal matter, as some of my friends say that only a letter of claims should be addressed to that company through the lower court in Bangkok and other legal " advisers" seem to say that the case should be brought before justice....once more
I am a bit wary of the fact that lawyers are not entirely working for peanuts ( understatement) and seeking some advice from you
Thanks
My summary might not be clear, so do not hesitate to ask

Le Méridien Versus Imperial Sheraton Kl
2012-05-11 22:55:31
Thanks to beano2274, again, we are flying, cheap, to KL last week of June
Actually, I intended to go there for the afternoon, flying back the same day but when I decided to change my dates doing the booking I forgot to change the return date...stuck then with the ticket I decided to buy a second one and go there on a romance trip landing at 7PM on Thursday, leaving KL at 9 PM on Saturday
Doing that, I also took a hotel award (stupidly I took the cheapest one not realising I had an other set of hotels in the area) and ended up with a choice between Le Meridien and Imperial Sheraton
Knowing that we already know KL and we like reel swimming pools, comfy rooms and walking around in search of local food, which OF THE TWO, would you go for?
Thanks for your help
