Friday night and there is a blackout in Rawai tonight.With the moonless night it is so dark.I am still hoping to hit the bars later on.Does anyone know the reason for the lack of electricity supply?Sanuk

Is there anybody out there who can recommend a car window tint shop?

Just bought a new car and looking for someone who does quality work.... if that is possible?

Why don't I get the tinting supplied as a dealer fitted option? Good question.....

This is my second car from the same dealer and I want to avoid the poor workmanship done on my first car!

I think that will be easier for me to deal directly with the tint fitters than to use the new car dealer as a middle-man. Especially when it is highly likely I will have to return the car anyhow for shoddy tinting workmanship.

Maybe if I offer the tint workers a bonus I will get a good job.......

Any suggestions will be gladly welcome?

Recently the LCD panel bezel which connects to one of the hinges of my laptop (ASUS M51SN) decided to split. I understand this can be a common occurrence on laptops.

There are two ASUS service centres in Phuket Town, one is Synnex and the other is Value.

Can anyone guide me in the right direction here as to where I should get my laptop fixed.

As my 2 year warranty has already expired maybe even a third party repairer might be the go.

My criteria here is a reasonably priced repair with a trustworthy repairer. After reading a recent story on computer repairers I am a little paranoid about letting my ailing baby go to anyone.

Any help would be kindly appreciated.

I understand that there are boundries as to how people can help and that the moderator will only allow positive recommendations.

Also any assistance in giving information for preparing a laptop for repairs, such as program & data back ups, deleting cookies, passwords etc and also checking for trojans etc on return would be welcome.

I would be very grateful if anyone can assist with the following problem :

On the first cold start of the day my 6 month old Toyota-diesel engined Vigo produces a single thump (like a misfire, detonation or knock) from the engine without detracting from successfully starting the engine.

Toyota have analysed the ECU on a warm running engine and found no fault.

Any suggestions would be very kindly appreciated!

Now in Vientiane with Irish friend on visa run. He cannot get a tourist visa because there are no new pages left in his Irish passport.

He currently only has two thirds of a page left in his passport , the other third is taken up by a Thai visa extension but there is also two thirds of a page from years ago with,the other third take by one entry and one exit transit stamp.

Problem is a that a  new passport will take up to 8 weeks to be issued from Ireland

Question is how does he maximize the remaining space for entry and exit stamps to wait in thailand for his new passport to arrive?

Can he do this with a flight from Lao to Thailand and then other flights in and out of Thailand with resulting 30 day transit visas?

Can he utilize the  previous space left from years ago for more entry and  exit transit stamps?

Any assistance will be appreciated.
