Anyone in the area who can give some information on the traffic situation around there?

I planned to go to Henri Dunant today but will have to change my route if Rajprasong is blocked by these clowns.

Patrick

Ratchaprasong in front of CentralWorld till Patumnam blocked for traffic according to Richard Barrow. Some photo's here:

Protest all they want - just don't BURN DOWN ANY DAMNED BUILDINGS

I don't think it is a protest. Rather it is a memorial event for those killed in the Bangkok protests.

glad to hear the baby is alright but....

1. why go out at one in the morning into a dark alley in patong beach?
2. why wasn't the boyfriend with her?

when you're five months pregnant...

True, this won't be the last attack to tourist, the Hotel must post warnings about travel alone at night, some very easy basic Mua Thai defensive moves for ladies... best place to post this is in elevator or ladies bathroom.  Also leave valuables in Hotel safe, one where you have a double key to open safe, and the security boxes are in full view of CCTV.

Learn Mua Thai basics for ladies ... a 1/2 days training would be with you any where in the world!!!...here in Pattaya, FairTex Sports club offers defensive training for European women, I see novelist women gain confidence and know this is the best insurance for defence and opens doors for further physical conditioning, this would inspire a NEW opportunity for Thai's to seek employment in the tourist industry.
Nice advert except that most here know how to counter Muay Thai moves so if one were to attempt it likely it would bring down even worse reactions and results.. Sometimes confidence can be deadly when reality takes over..

Now, nice little policemen, get off your backsides and track these thugs down please.

Are you sure you want that?  If they ladyboys have been paying attention to the tactics used by tuktuks and motorcycle taxis they'll get away scott free.  They'll turn themselves into police but insist that farang started it and they were defending themselves.  All 4 will have the same story and insist the police do something about the horrible farang.  They'll probably also have some "friends" who were there but not involved to vouch for them.

The police will then talk to the couple and kindly explain they can press charges againt the katoeys, but if they do so the katoeys will press charges against them, and if that happens the police will have to confiscate the lady's passport until the trial which will be in 3-6 months.  Its up the courts to decide who is telling the truth, not the police.

So, would she like to press charges, spend the next 3-6 months stuck in Thailand, and hope that the courts take her word vs 4 Thai's, or would she like to perhaps forget about the charges and head back home before anything worse happens?
