Vertical Sun Awning

2012-03-22 13:39:29

I'm thinking of installing a vertical sun awning, roughly 4 m wide with a drop of about 2.5 m. I want to compare prices and models before buying, but so far the only place I have noticed that specialises in sun awnings is in the outdoor shopping area just in front of Home Works. Can anybody point me to some other vendors in the Pattaya area?

Thanks for any info.

Paying Tot Bills

2012-03-16 11:47:38

I had TOT broadband installed a few months ago, and this week I got the first bill. So I went along to their office on Klang to pay it, no problem. It's going to get a bit boring having to troop over there every month, though. Are there any alternatives for paying TOT bills, like you have for paying electricity or water at the nearest 7-Eleven?

How To Get To The Land Transport Place Via The Dark Side?

2012-03-03 12:22:03

I have to renew the tax on my motorbike in a couple of weeks. Rather than going the obvious way, Sukhumvit and then Route 36, I want to try something that may be more interesting and peaceful, and cut through the Dark Side from Thepprasit. Looking at Google Earth and various maps, it's a maze over there and I don't see any obvious direct route. I don't know the Dark Side at all, and only generally go there to get bacon from Western Foods down on Chaiyapruk 2, or else use the road along the railway line as an easy way to get to the likes of Numchai or Index. The roads don't seem to be very well signposted from what I have seen.

So can anybody give me directions how to get from Soi Kao Talo, which is where I would most probably cross over to the Dark Side from Thepprasit, and end up at the Land Transport place on Route 36, going via the roads on the Dark Side?

British Consulate Bangkok Opening Hours?

2012-02-23 11:29:48

A Thai friend is applying for her second visa to visit her boyfriend in the UK. She's made an appointment to go to wherever it is in Bangkok on a Saturday. I checked the website and it says that opening hours don't include Saturdays:

That link is dated almost a year ago, so can anyone tell me if they are now open on Saturdays, or am I looking at the wrong thing and what should I be looking for?

Thanks for any help.

Hydraulic Cement

2012-02-14 11:40:52

My fish pond has developed a couple of cracks. Rather than have it completely rebuilt, I have read that you can use something called hydraulic cement, also called leak-stop or quick-set cement, to patch the cracks. This sounds a lot easier and cheaper than rebuilding the whole thing. I know nothing about hydraulic cement other than what I have read in articles like this one:

Has anybody come across this in Pattaya, and if so where? Thanks for any help.
