last world cup a friend's bar showed the match broadcast through thai tv and synced that up with the radio five live commentary from england. was excellent and far, far more entertaining than the usual tv commentary pillocks.

Yes. Why is everyone going on about dishes? Most homes have an analogue signal don't they? You just pull out the true cable and connect your TV to that hole in the wall with another cable.

Beer sold in other ASEAN countries is far superior to the chemical brews they call beer here in Thailand. I was in Laos recently and had a very fine selection of Lao and Vietnamese beers. I can't see anyone in those countries flocking to Chang and Singha and it is only Thai nationalism that is going to protect those brands from being overwhelmed by superior imports.
