In Topic: Phuket Tourist Forced To Pay 180,000 Baht In Jet-Ski Repairs

2011-04-21 09:19:44

If any of You actually check out the Price of a New Jet Ski You might be Surprised!!! Starting Price for a decent one is around 700.000 Baht and they can be Much More! I am Not Condoning the Beach Wildlife in Patong as they are all Scammers in one way or another The Entire Beach is Infested, Starting from the Car & Bike Rentals occupying the Public Parking Spaces working right down to the Waterline!!! I would have thought it is Plain to See and Common Sense should Prevail. Obviously these Tourists were 5 short of a 6 Pack? Why Rent a vehicle You can't operate??? So considering they Played Dodgems with Someones Jet Ski they Deserve to Pay!!! Looking at the Photos it is pretty well Totaled and hardly worth repairing!!!

the Great Suthet speaks!  Abisit would be so much better off without this loose canon ball - what a diplomat!  maybe a candidate for the UN Chair?

PS he forget's his boss is an British Passport Holder and his education was in the place 'he doesn't respect'

I believe He would Fit Right in with the Rest of the "Elite" in the UN, Including Our Ex NZ PM Helen Clarke!!! Or Possibly He was only referring to UN and NGO Personal when He made the Statement as that Would also fit with most everyone Else's Opinion of them!!!

In Topic: Defacto Question

As She doesn't "Ever want to return Home", Get Married! A Foreign Lady once Married to a Thai Man can become a Thai Citizen easily, End of Visa Problems! Unfortunately not the same for Foreign Men! A Defacto Relationship means Nothing in the Authorities Eyes! A Thai Ceremony also has little meaning to the Authorities! It is actually quite Simple to get married legally and Providing You haven't been Married before requires very little paperwork or Trouble dealing with Your Embassy. Good Luck!

No, they are not married, just living together ( Defacto). However they are talking about marriage, well, marrying  the Thai way and have it registered at the Amphur. She does not want to go to the trouble of dealing with the Aussie embassy as she has no intentions of going back to that country. So would that type of marriage be seen as legal and would it suffice for her to obtain a spouse visa.

In Topic: Is The New Toyota Tundra A Good Car?

The Tundra is a pick-up truck, not a car. You won't get one from Toyota in LOS. Try North America. Ah, actually you can get one in Australia.....a crew cab. But there they will rip you a new A$hole. Price is around Au$90,000 (US$75,444)! The basic 2010 sticker price in U.S. is US$27,900+
I have Just been Told Toyota will be replacing the present Vigo Range with a New Model end of this Year Called the "Tundra" ! I doubt it will be the Full Size Pickup like in the States but rather a Smaller similar looking model same size as the Vigo? It will be Interesting to see the Engine Range as Ford are releasing their New Pickup this Year which is Physically Bigger than their current one and has a 200HP Engine so one would think Toyota would respond and Match???

I am Very Sorry to Hear this or any Complaints regarding the X-Centre. We have 3 Staff who are supposedly Manning the Reception and taking Calls, Bookings etc? But in their Defense the Phone is sometimes Busy or they maybe Miss a Call because they are Busy? Anyway I apologize! We Try Our best to make everyone Happy but as We all know "You can Please some of the People some of the Time but You can't Please all of the people all of the Time". Pick Up Times are in town so in fact 9:30am and 1pm is When the Van is in Town but it collects People from Different Locations and Hotels so as it can not be in several Places at once the Times vary! As for the Prices, Yes It is quite Expensive to Some People but to the Majority it is Acceptable? In Fact over the Christmas, New Year Period 80 % of the Customers were Thai and never complained? In Fact they never did much Damage either where as a lot of Foreigners seem to think it is a Demolition Derby!!!
Anyway Sorry to anyone with a Bad Experience and We will Try to ensure it doesn't happen in the Future.
Cheers!

Okay, maybe an X-Centre staff is reading this or maybe somebody else knows.

I made a reservation via their website, and got no response; then tried calling their landline and mobile listed on the site and got no answer. They go out of business already? Or just taking a vacation around the new year? Or just not answering the phone?

This is a shot in the dark I know, but if anybody knows the scoop, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

Ohh..strange. Hope you get some feedback on that.

I made the reservation for the 930 pick up this morning; and after  assuming it was a no go due to no phone call, eventually got a phone  call at around 950. Guy on the phone said he had just noticed my  reservation in the system. Anyway, rescheduled for 1 pm pick up. Van  showed up around 130.

Did the buggies on the trails, drifter  carts, paintball, and zorb ball. Expensive but fun. Staff was very  friendly and helpful. Watched someone else bungy jump and he looked like  he had a good time. Drifter carts were the coolest.
