Saw this in the Australian news this afternoon & thought it was interesting.
I wonder if Thailand will follow suit?
MALE foreigners over the age of 50 have been outlawed from marrying Cambodian women in the country under new rules designed to crack down on sham marriages and human trafficking, the government said today.
Foreigners who earn less than $2,580 per month are also barred from wedding local women, foreign ministry spokesman Koy Kuong told AFP, but the restrictions do not apply to weddings taking place overseas.

About Me
Hello there. Thanks for visiting my profile page, allow me to tell you about myself.
My name is Les Beeanne, I'm presently here in Thailand on a Visa Exempt or Tourist Visa, I can't really work out which one because I've only done this a couple of times, I mean I havent really spent that much time in Thailand but I'm a fast learner and know everything about Thailand and Thai people.
I'm a box biter by trade & I like to keep my hair short & my chest pumped up just to prove that Im not scared of people. I'm not that old either but I've got it all worked out, my job here is to set people straight according to the way I see things.
On my first visit to Thailand I met a lovely young lass in a sleepy little holiday resort called 'Pattaya'. Shes a lovely young thing but let me tell you, a little bit leathery below the loins. It was love at first sight for her, naturally, although she claims never to have been with a woman before she certainly seemed to know how to please me. I was lucky you know I met her on her first night in Pattaya, she'd just started work as a cashier in a bar. I was amazed a how well she had clicked and bonded with all her work collegues. A couple of days after we met, she whisked me upcountry to meet her family, we had such a nice time.
She has a couple of Children but their father shot thru along time ago. The Children live with her brother, he seems nice enough & while we were upcountry we stayed at his place. I think his name is 'pore' or thats what the children call him anyway, which is a funny thing because thats what my lady calls her father, the brother must have been named in honour of him.
Anyway, after my first visit my girlfriend gave up her 'cashiers' job at the bar and moved home to stay with her brother and the children. Its not a very big house, I've noticed that when I payed her a surprise visit a few weeks ago, I found her asleep next to her brother, it must be really difficult for them having such a small house, I plan to borrow some money when I get home and pay for them to extend it. I would have normally paid for this out of my savings, however we've had trouble with her parents buffaloe, its been rather sick and all my money has been going to its heart transplant surgery.
Okay, well more on me later, Im very important & Im going to race into the forum and educate all those silly expat man, who just need that buth lasses guiding hand.

Substance Abuse
2010-09-20 08:34:57
Yesterday I was reading another thread (I can't remember which one) and one of the posters in there was talking about expats and substance abuse and the first thing he mentioned was Coffee.
Coffee is one of my passions and quite often when I'm out an about if I spot a new coffee shop I will pop in and give it a try. I also have a few favourite Coffee shops around the place but I don't drink anywhere as near as much Coffee as I did back in my home country where I had my own expresso machine and an endless supply of lovely coffee beans.
So, that got me to thinking, am I abusing Coffee, how much is too much? I normally now limit myself to 1 coffee per day and some days I don't have one. Also I have found that sometimes when I get a headache, if I have a Coffee the headache can dissipate.

Wireless Usb Adapter Dropping Out
2010-08-09 18:10:12
Hi,
Recently I bought a Wireless USB adaptor for my desktop computer as I relocated the PC and it is not close to a telephone outlet or suitable to run a telephone line to.
The adaptor works great UNTIL our laptop is turned on and connects to the internet. Each and everytime this occurs the desktop drops its connection and is unable to reconnect. To reconnect the desktop I have to disconnect the laptop and turn off the wireless router/modem (disconnect it from the power) for 15 secs etc etc.
Its definately NOT a problem with the router as whenever the desktop drops out (after connecting the notebook) the notebook's connection works fine, as does the telephones.
So far I have changed the USB Adapter between all 6 available USB ports on the desktop but the result is always the same. Reception between the desktop and router is GOOD and there is never a problem unless the notebook connects to the internet.
Has anyone got any ideas to fix this problem or had any similar experiences/suggestions?
ps: I did google the problem and read through heaps of disconnect problems but couldnt find anything that matched this problem.

Morons Guide To Televisions
2010-06-30 15:24:44
I realise there are a couple of threads running on televisions and various chat about this brand or that brand, this model or that model etc.
I have no knowledge about these things, I'm still running a tube TV as I don't watch too much & have been too tight to buy another.
Anyway, I'm trying to educate myself online via reading this and that BUT AM GETTING CONFUSED
.
Does anyone want to have a crack at simplifiying this process & making some recommendations about what to look for. I don't even know what size I should be looking for etc. Whats the deal between PLASMA (Old technology) verses LCD, verses LED? Does one use more power than the other. Are there things to consider when buying each one, such as screen life etc.
THE MIND BOGGLES and its information overlaod. Also everytime I speak with a Thai salesman, his make or model is the best and he baffles me with B.S. until I get overload headache.
Im not trying to be entirely lazy by asking for help here, but appreciate some owners will be able give advice based on Experience & not the need to make a sale.
