Yes, but what happens with clowns is that when they shoot to hit those guys over there they invariably end up hitting us guys over here.
it has indeed become a problem to be a U.S. citizen living abroad, wanting to handle his/her investment abroad even though he/she has no intention to cheat the IRS out of a single penny. unfortunately it's the little guys who are bearing the brunt. those who are loaded can still escape the trap.

This is something isn't it?

You may check out any time you like but you may never leave?

Then add to it the opposite laws they are trying right now to quietly pass....
Of course it is under the guise of the ever popular TERRORIST theme

Go look up S.1698 & H.R.3166  many videos etc. available
They want to strip you of your citizenship on any accusation of your being involved with terrorism.
Yet they know full well you cannot be a man without a country

So what it really strips is your rights to any council, representation or trial.

#5258330 U.S. Federal Regulators Close 5 Banks In 4 States

The 2 small to succeed continue to fall.......

If they were smart like the 2 Big 2 Fail & had each contributed
big $$$ to presidential candidates .....They too would have had access to
billions in 0% loans......Who could fail with props like that?

Contributors to Obama...
Goldman Sachs....$1,013,091
JP Morgan Chase...$808,799
Citigroup..................$736,771
Morgan Stanley.......$512,232

Contributors to McCain
Merrill Lynch...........$375,895
JP Morgan Chase...$343,505
Citigroup................$338,202
Morgan Stanley......$271,902
Goldman Sachs.....$240,295
Bank Of America...$167,826

Every one of these banks profited big time from TARP/Bail Out
Goldman Sachs is not even a bank for goodness sake. Yet they got 12.9 Billion
funneled to them by AIG of bailout monies

In the end the 2 Big 2 Fail will be the only choices available to US bankers.

Wouldn't it be reasonably easy to test the gold?  Especially with gold bars, the weight and the size (volume) should give you the gold content?

I don't know much about buying gold, but if you put a gold bar in a carefully calculated amount of water, the displacement should give you an idea of the density of the material and thus it's purity.
The weight of the displaced volume of water will tell you its weight IF it floats, but only the volume of an irregular shaped object if it sinks. The object would then have to be weighed very accurarely and the density (ratio of weight to volume) calculated. But shouldn't be too hard to pick as gold's density is 19.3 and silver 10.5 g/cc.
Jewellers pick alloyed gold by heating to red hot. The silver will oxidize and appear as black spots.

Steve Keen is one of the guys I have time for.

Its now time for all those Eurotwats to back down from their "big fuc_king plan" and look for a workable solution. And the workable solution is surely not more of the same that put the Eurozone into the mess in the first place. The IMF, the ECB and the Eurotwats seem to be utterly isolated from the real situations developing. All they offer is endless hardship through austerity far into the future.

The straight-jacket of the Euro has to be removed.
it's not as easy to remove the straight-jacket without huge implications as is removing garbage in Nakhon Nowhere. €UR-Land is not Kansas Dorothy!
at this point a musical interlude is appropriate Posted Image

This year I think drought is going to be a problem.
With even higher price´s on crops, fruits and God knows what else.
Have no fear the Pardon Thaksin Party will come to the rescue. I'm suprised they are not using boats to force the water back up the rivers to the drought areas for irrigation.

Get real, Thai people don't expect us to be Thai. Unless we can pass visually as Thai, we can never be Thai. But these f-rang poseurs have adopted a delusional mental condition about what is needed to be an acceptable resident in Thailand and fascistically deem to impose their absurd comical standard on all of us.

I dont see why this is such a big deal, unless you are a tax evader.

I don't think that is true of all US citizens that want a 2nd passport.

Some may feel various laws are just too much of an infringement on their personal freedoms.

I think perhaps your correct when you say it might be a small percentage of rich that renounce but....
I will bet that there is a very large segment of rich that have dual citizenship. Whether that be for a
"just in case scenario" or other reasons ...who knows?

After all it is law that if your worth over two million dollars you will be hit with a hefty exit tax should you
want to renounce your US citizenship. So yes I agree the rich probably would not.

But looking at it from the freedom perspective.... It is a nice option for someone who holds two passports
to freely open an account elsewhere without the liability of either being refused ( possible in the future )
or even just the fact they can & not be breaking any laws technically.

If say my wife is a dual Thai/US citizen & of course she opened her accounts as a Thai before she was a US citizen....
why should she be compelled to disclose  that or even report it? It was not required as part of her citizenship.
Technicality?.... Maybe......Letter of the law? ....Maybe

But these are some of the reasons some may want another passport. Perhaps even just the security/option
of being able to return to the country of their choice should TSHTF in either of the countries.
After all this so called worldwide financial crisis is not over by a long shot. I would go so far as to say it
has not only not been addressed but on paper has gotten worse.

But those of more modest means renounce, too. They say leaving America is about more than money; it's about privacy and red tape.

Thanks for that. The problem with photos and videos is no smell and they don't typically take photos of piles of trash etc. But being able to accomplish it in a bit over two years and only having to spend 6 months a year there has a lot of appeal. I understand the traffic is much like thailand but more like bumper cars. And they have a bad habit of crowding you, invading your space if you will. On the plus side it is a booming economy and they say friendly. Do you think it is worth a visit?

If you were to search "Miraflores" it will be worlds different. This is like (one of) Lima's safe and beautiful oasis.

Peru's advantages: great surfing, abundant uncrowded coastline, cost of living, nightlife, food, women (try a sidetrip to tarapoto if you want your socks blown off), people, history/culture, numerous in country travel options (much like Thailand).

Peru's negatives: you pay almost US prices to live in a neighborhood like Miraflores (restaurants, apartments, everything), no Mexican food.

As you can see, I like it there Posted Image Definitely worth a visit. Places like Trujillo are very charming, and as you go further north there are warm water party beaches like Mancora etc. The food is out of this world -- just not enough good things can be said about it, think "Ceviche and a cold beer".... it is just blissfully good. The fruit alone is worth a visit -- try a pineapple from the jungle and you will never be able to eat another pineapple again without thinking of it... that good. There are three main types of food there: jungle, coastal (eg Lima) and mountain (Cuzco), so there is a lot of potential variety.

Having said all that, I don't know anything about the tax implications Posted Image

Romney is talking now as if he is radical right. Nobody really knows what he actually is politically. Which is why he will never be president. He is a plutocrat and most Americans simply can't relate to him. He won't win. If you wanted someone actually competent, politically coherent, with a recognizable human personality who is somewhat to the right of Obama, it should have been Bloomberg.

I agree about Bloomberg, but if Romney's a plutocrat (which he is), what's Obama?  Someone who's never done anything but was INSTALLED as president. I'll come clean, I drank that Kool aid because i thought the alternative was too horrific to contemplate, but let's be honest here, he's an utter failure.  Not only domestically but even more so abroad.

If the people don't TAKE it back in one form or another, these folks will not learn.

The government is obviously bought & paid for/compromised.
These folks will hear only one thing & it is all that will stop them & it is all that is left.

How can folks obey the law in a lawless country? If only those that obey lose & those that do not obey win +have the audacity to ask to be rewarded for their treachery/thievery?

How will that work? Will it not eventually boil over & there be major Mayhem/Revolution?
Better the people start to clean Their homes NOW while the roaches are in reality the minority.

Future roach wannabe's seeing  roaches getting crushed will think for once.....Instead we have wannabes seeing roaches
being rewarded...Guess what direction they will choose?
Will they rather become part of the rewarded problem or the poor solution?
