Uk Passport Application

I am an Australian passport holder residing in Thailand and am looking to obtain a UK passport.
I have a UK birth certicate (born before 1983) and a Thai working visa.
Can anyone assist in outlining the steps i would have to take?
I believe you have to apply for 'Right of Abode' before beginning the passport application process?
Any help in clarifying this process would be much appreciated.

Bar Closures Due To Local Elections?

Can anyone provide some more information on bar/club closures this weekend (Fri 3rd Dec- Sun 5th Dec)?

I just heard today that many bars would close and that restaurants would not be allowed to sell alcohol all weekend due to local elections (Thong Lor, Sukhumvit and Klong Toey).

I also heard that perhaps Khao San and Silom are not affected by these elections.

I cannot see any information on this forum and not many people seem to know about it.

Just wondered if anyone has any inside knowledge as to what will be open tonight with the election tomorrow. Ideally, I want to find a bar to watch the football in. Will anything be open, or will I have to find a restaurant to watch the game?

60 Day Tourist Visa To Non-Imm B?

I was told by a visa run agent that it's possible to transfer a 60-day tourist visa to a non-immigrant B visa here in BKK. Is this possible and, if so, how is it done?

Arsenal Fans?

I just moved to BKK 2 weeks ago and don't know many people here. The people I do know aren't football fans (English Premier Leaugue football/soccer). I'm looking for other football fans to go watch the games with or at least tell me where are the best bars in town to see the games. Arsenal fans would be perfect but fans of other clubs would also be great.
