I need to meet someone next week at Suvarnabhumi Airport. I will take a bus from Surin. Can anyone recommend the best place to get dropped off, preferably a stop where i will have no problem finding a cab.
Thanks in advance Mizzi

Anyone Have A Hernia Repair Recently?
2011-05-30 09:31:00
I noticed that I had an inguinal hernia on my right side when showering this morning. I had the same on my left about 12 years ago that was repaired in the States. I will need to get this one taken care of at some point. I do not have insurance, so will have to pay out of pocket.
I currently live in the sticks and would like to have this procedure done without breaking the bank. i know that having it done at a Govt. hospital would be the most cost effective, but I would feel more comfortable having the surgery in BKK., preferably at a hospital where there isn't too much of a language barrier.
I know that private international hospitals can be costly, but if there is anyone out there with recent experience with hernia repair and could point me in the right direction as far as treatment and cost, could you please share here or PM me?
Thanks Mizzi

Where To Obtain A Re-Entry Permit
2010-10-12 09:33:13
I need to fly to the States next week for 2 weeks due to a family emergency. I am on a NonB with a 1 year extension, so I need the re-entry permit. Do I have to use my "local" provincial immigration office which is in Chok Chai (3 hour drive from my home) or can I do it in Bangkok. Does the airport offer this service?
Thanks in advance. Mizzi

Barre Center For Buddhist Studies (Bcbs) Barre, Ma.

I thought that I would share some pictures taken at BCBS back in my May when I took my wife and son to the states. BCBS is located on 90 acres of land behind the Barre Meditation Society (center) co founded by J. Kornfield. The farm is over 200 yrs old. I had not been out there in years, and got lost trying to find the place, since the facility is discreetly marked. The center has quite a history with many influential guest speakers including the Dali Lama .Lectures and retreats are held weekly. Buddhist monks and scholars come from all over the world to teach Dharma. A great place to visit if you are in the Massachusetts area.
My wife being a Thai Buddhist and used to Thai style temples was very impressed with the simplistic Zen like feel of the facility. She still talks about it. I did not take many pics of the interior, but all schools of Buddhism are represented as part of the facility's decor. Hope you enjoy!
