This really belongs in the News section, but I can't start a new topic there.
I just drove past the Criminal Courts building (Sanaya) on Ratchadapisek and there is a Redshirt Demonstration going on there. There are just a few people, I would guess no more than 100, but they seem to have completely blocked the northbound lanes. As of now, the traffic is backed up to Suttisan or further.
I only caught a brief glimpse of the banners, but they seemed to be protesting against Section 112 of the Constitution and I suspect that the death of "Uncle SMS" in prison may have triggered this protest.

A Curious Omission In The News Section
2011-12-16 10:12:35
There are a couple of interesting stories about censorship and the LM law in the Bangkok Post, but nothing, except for a brief mention of Da Torpedo's sentencing, in the TV News section.
Is it just that similar stories have not appeared in the Nation? Or is TV discouraging discussion of these controversial topics for fear that the comments might go too far?
Recently, the Government has said that they want to spend 400 million baht implementing a LI (Lawful Intervention) system that will monitor & censor all "unlawful website content". The Government has also blocked 60,000 websites in the past 3 months, as compared to 73,000 websites blocked during the 3 years that the Democrats were in power. Is this just a case of bureaucracy that is out of control? Or is this the official policy of the Yingluck Administration?
It would be interesting to be able to discuss these things, but, unless I'm just missing them, there is no open topic for these issues in the News SubForum.

Thai Student In Us Wants To Change Schools.

One of my wife's relatives in currently in Michigan or Minnesota or someplace like that, taking some courses arranged by a Thai school. Naturally, he is cold and miserable there & wants to move to a school in California (where my family could look after him). Does anyone know how he can extend & transfer his visa? Or does he have to come back to Thailand and reapply?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Really Annoying Popup!

The site I posted in the topic description is popping up almost every time I click on almost anything! Apparently this is a problem that many True subscribers are having. Can anybody tell me the best way to stop this? I use Firefox and Ubuntu and my regular pop-up blocker does not stop this.
