#5314993 Thai Women Extorting Money From Farlangs Through Facebook

Posted Beetlejuice on 2012-05-19 22:31:25

Any farang with even an ounce of grey matter who becomes involved in a Thai girl relationship, should hear alarm bells ringing and see red lights flashing as soon as there are pleas for large sums of money, for whatever reasons.

A few facts from the Beetlejuice vault of truth and wisdom that may save a guy a fortune and a lot of emotional trauma.

Cute girl sends out signals to a guy that she likes him.

After spending a passionate evening with her and a night of lovey-doveyness
with and perhaps the best sex the guy has had for years, he becomes smitten and can hardly believe his luck.

He holds her hand and listens intently to her pitiful hard luck stories and then wants to be her knight in shining armour, to the rescue, at any price, dreaming that at last he has discovered a true soul mate and love of his life, believing in a dream the guy decides to invest in her for a good future.

This is how it begins and of course in most cases the result will turn out completely different to the guy’s expectations.

Three major clues that will determine if the girl is not sincere and giving a guy a load of BS:

1. Most of her problems can only be solved with money.
2. The girl is not willing to give up any of her usual social schedules to be with the guy.
3. Appears to have many relatives, friends, acquaintances or colleges that she prefers to keep to herself and separate from her so-called relationship with the guy.

It`s very simple. If a girl really likes or loves a guy, she will unconditionally follow him anywhere with no strings or provisos attached.

Her main ambition in life will become solely to be with her man without any financial stipulations and social limitations. She should in fact be proud and keen to show off her new boyfriend and let everyone know that he and she is now an item.

If this is not the case, then dream on baby, because it`s going to cost you dear and you are wasting your time.

For those that don`t believe, won’t heed this advice or willing to take a gamble, than you do so at your own risk. Fall down and no one’s going to care.

Actually Iv lived in pattaya 6 years, aswell as travelled through Asia. Also having a Thai wife and child.

This post is about the modern day girls of Thailand, not the past!

And the general population of farlangs who live here are...

You seem to be getting very hey up about the topic. Would one believe this has happened to you??

I wonder how many men would admit it? I for one would have to put up my hand and hang my head. Looking back, I cringe at my stupidity, but I suppose what is done is done.I hope my mother is not reading this...

I met a lady via the internet, I didn't send any more to her, I flew in, met her at Swampy, and went on holiday with her. She was stunning, we fell out after a week, ( more to the point I fell out with her, she was WILD!!!! ) and sent her home to BKK on a bus, instead of flying her back from Chiang Mai.

I felt guilty about that later and I ended up sending her about 5,000 baht. I was angry with myself for abandoning my duty of care for her, it doesn't matter how angry you get with someone you always have to remember that duty of care, and I let myself down. So the money I sent was what I saved by sending her back on a bus instead of a flight.

Now I know that story doesn't fit in with the OP, however it does show that it's possible to meet beautiful, ( and by the way, she was jaw droppingly beautiful ) women via the net. WITHOUT PAYING A PENNY!!!

She really was wild though, a typical BKK Party Girl.

The bottom line is, that there is one born every minute, so there will always be plenty of business to go around for the scam artists and probably one profession that will never become obsolete.

I have absolutely no sympathy for the guys who get scammed, but rather they should be pitied in a sad, sick sort of way. Many of them believe that it is possible to buy friendship or a companion and are desperate for their dreams to become reality.

Dumb people, with sad lives, ripe for extortion, who cares?

Thailand Really Likes Old Western Guys

I'm only 38 and whenever I visit the countryside, I am given royal treatment by just about everybody.
Ok, except from the odd guy here and there that hates foreigners for some reason, but these are less than 1%.
I try to give back as much as possible of course, but sometimes the care I am subject to indisposes me.
I am always deeply touched by the attention and can't express how much I like and respect the good Thai people.

Thank you
:wai:

What happens in Pattaya (plus 3 more tourist places) does not reflect on foreigner behaviour in the majority of Thailand.
I doubt if there are even a dozen foreigners living in my province (Nan), let alone louts treating Thai women badly.
If you choose to live in a sewer, then you can expect to encounter rats.

I agree with you, but Pattaya and places like it are all many foreigners see in Thailand. Yes, I have spent some time in Nan and I can't recall seeing another farang during the time I was there. Of course, I spent most of my time riding my bike in the lovely hills to the north east. I've never seen so much construction in what seemed to be a deserted city. More than a few of us commented on it. I'm always treated with respect in the small villages and cities away from tourist centers.

Most of the time i am reading about all of the bad things in Thailand and people bitching about thailand and the Thai people.I was always wondering what i was doing wrong,Thai people greet me and come over to look at the garden and bring me plants and trees and talk about the cows we keep.
I was afraid there was something really wrong with me,but guess what?I am not alone!
Great thread and long overdue,a real picker upper for a lot of old geezers like me, i think.

Myanmar icon Aung San Suu Kyi wins parliamentary seat

Yangon - Myanmar democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi on Sunday won a parliamentary seat in a by-election that was heading for a clear victory for her National League for Democracy party.

Suu Kyi won in 112 out of 129 polling stations in Kawhmu township, 30 kilometres south of Yangon, according to the public vote counts by authorities and reported by the NLD at their Yangon headquarters.

"Mother Suu, Mother Suu," NLD supporters shouted outside the office in jubilation. The government had not officially acknowledged the win, a process that could take a week.

Initial vote counts had the NLD winning in more than 30 of the contested 45 seats in this by-election, necessitated after the current cabinet assumed office a year ago. Initially 48 seats were to be contested but voting was postponed in the Kachin State due to security concerns.

Welcome to amazing, unbelievable Burma, and great investment and curtailed sanctions from USA and the UN. YuckLing, you have a battle on your hands, as the Formula 1 2015 ASEAN may just be held nextdoor, as she's a far greater Lady than you are. ;)

#5145804 New Deportation Condition Changes!

Posted Badbanker on 2012-03-19 06:11:49

Most people on this forum know I work in and around the IDC almost every week and assist people get deported and go home in an organised manner.

Last week I did 5 deportations and suddenly realised that I had not made a note of this change of policy to people on Thai Visa.

If you wish to voluntarily leave by paying the 20 k at the airport and flying out to get a new visa in an adjacent country, you may still do that.

Previously It could be arranged for British nationals to be deported to a place for which you have no right of entry refusal as in Hong Kong.

That has now changed! If you are arrested or voluntarily surrender to immigration even after 5 days overstay expect to be deported to your country of origin.

Just thinking about it I realised that I had not told the forum about this change in policy.

#5145126 New Deportation Condition Changes!

Posted Badbanker on 2012-03-18 20:52:32

Recently there has been a change in deportation policy, to strictly enforce all deportees be returned to their country of origin.

It is tipped that this came about, because a British national whose Thai visa was cancelled at the request of HM Prison Service, and was being returned to prison in the UK, jumped ship at a transit stop and returned to Cambodia.  His action has really hurt a lot of people!

Shortly after this event, all people who are deported have had their passports handed by immigration to the Captain of the aircraft, who gives you and the passport to law enforcement officials at any transit stops, who ensure the passport and passenger is given to the captain of the ongoing aircraft, who then hands you and your passport to the Immigration authorities in the deportee's country of origin.

As can be imagined, many countries of origin do not take kindly to this sort of thing happening and detain deportees further so they can establish the nature of the offense of the deportee.  Many Middle Eastern and African countries further detain people in these circumstances for 1-5 days and often money must be paid to get you out.

Previously the return to country of origin was winked at and it was possible to be deported to a country for which the deportee had no right of refusal.  British nationals to Hong Kong for instance!  That has now seriously changed.

This is the first major change I have seen in the deportation system for some years.  Immigration is starting to look at other ways to discourage people from overstaying their visas that, aside from potential involvement in illicit activity, are a burden on Thai society at large.

Don't abuse the privilege we have in this country and overstay!  Get legal soon people, because Blacklisting is also being discussed!

It appears that these outstanding issues of ‘careless need and thankless greed’ occur when westerners are dealing with those on the lower rungs of societies socio-economic ladder and decide to play Robin hood / Night in Shining Armor. It is these poorer people who are often most in need of assistance that so readily shoot themselves in the foot

Ain't that the truth, Richard. But, it still doesn't stop me helping those with less than me. I can spot a con-game a mile away but I still enjoying playing the game. I'll even call them on it with a big smile on my face. I have a budget of about $4000 a year for charity and I usually stay within that amount. I would rather help people help themselves, but it's unfortunate that so many ruin it for themselves by either being ungrateful or greedy. At that point I just tell them that they ruined any chance of getting anymore help. There are always a few who need it more and truly ARE grateful. I know two Thai women who turned a little bit of financial help into a small fortune by Thai standards. One gal is now married and owns three shops and has hired 5 staff.
