// its all speculation and now out of control speculation.
I agree.
Someone yesterday asked why "famous" members leave ThaiVisa forum;
this kind of rumor that we periodically find here could be a reason...

The very sad thing is that this rumor come from a sponsor and was written by a upper group member.
No other message since yesterday to confirm this speculation
Not good for the already poor credibility of ThaiVisa...
Yes, too many of my "BREAKING NEWS" e-mail alerts from TV, seem to be of the sensationalism genre.

Back to the original subject: "Thai Immigration tightens requirements for retirement visa extensions."

Has anyone actually spoken with a Thai Immigration official, and been able to confirm, or deny the original post?

Or, are we stuck with ten pages of useless speculation?

Wow!  4000 baht :o?
One would think Shenzhen would make it easier.  Don't they want visitors to come and spend their money?
Asia...never ceases to amaze me.

Thanks for the replies.

In Topic: Security Box - Udon Thani

I have a box at the Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) main branch on Prajak Rd.
I think they have a few medium size boxes still for rent at 3000 baht per year plus a security deposit (refundable) of 3500 baht.
However, you will need to have an account with SCB.  Not sure what the minimum balance is.
I've read other banks also have boxes, you will need to check with them.

In Topic: Vip Direct Bus From Pattaya To Udon Thani

So far, this is all I've come up with:
There is a bus company called: "999 VIP".  They have an overnight bus  from Udon to Swampy and an overnight bus from Swampy to Nong Khai.   Along the route it has short pick up stops in Korat, Khon Kaen, Udon,  and the final destination of Nong Khai.
They operate 24 seat VIP buses.  Their telephone # in Udon: 042-221-489.   I don't have their # at the airport or their schedule yet.  But I have  heard they are reliable.

I'm thinking it would be easier, more convenient, and less time to get  from Pattaya/Jomtien to Swampy, than from Pattaya/Jomtien to Mochit???

Please tell us when you find a bus ?

Seems a lot better to go to take it in Bangkok.
