Prepare for early flooding? ... I remember one of the ministers claiming there will be no floods this year... What was that again???...
Not the same.  This is run-off from the water coming down the mountain.

Who is kidding who, I am in Chiang Mai and I can assure you the rain has been coming down from the sky not the mountians and the local Khlong is already at almost the top. Agree flooding later will come from mountins but that is several days away.

Bite the bullet and install a proper unit. This is why Thais cook outside. . .

If ALL foreigners would leave this country where you get screwed cheated and robbed my every government department that sees a chance the country would be in big problems loosing a lot of money but they know we are a big community but they also know we don't want to give up our lives here. Would actually be great to see everyone moving to a better country close to here and there are better countries. I for sure am looking at possibilities being screwed so many times but one foreigner moving does not impress and most foreigners simply just like talking and complaining here in this forum and not move ...................
Perhaps letting Taksin return without any penalty will help the Taksin haters move Posted Image Posted Image
I guess you are one of the complainers and not a mover, having said that I have been coming here since 1970 never been riped off yet I guess you hang with the wrong people.

motorcycles, sedans, pick-ups and vehicles that carry more than seven passengers.

So what else is left?  Is Thailand the only country in the world with such a bizar law ?

I am missing something here, the Gov claims that Thailand is going to be the Detroit of Asia car manufacturing.  Take that with a grain of salt.  But, it is true that many cars are manufactured in Thailand and sold domestically. so why are used cars here so dam_n expensive, I mean crap boxes.

Old clapped out junk that you could easy buy for $500-$1000 in USA, Australia or Europe you have to pay $6000+ in Thailand.

In the west we have millions of people paid to sit on their arses. Why not set them to work building solar farms, roads, digging coal etc based on their abilities? If they don't do it or not work satisfactorily then only vouchers to stay alive - no more cash hand outs.

This is probably another thing which can only come after major calamity.
... no government will stop it because those lazy buggers are the cheapest votes available

FWIW, I use my iPhone in Japan as a GPS/navigation device.  It works great, both for walking & driving directions.  If it works equally well in Thailand, I would say it's worth is just for that. But then I also use it as an eBook reader, music player, camera, web browser & gaming device.  If none of those uses hold any appeal for you, then maybe it's not worth it.
The web browser part would be of interest. Believe it or not, I'm not always sitting at my pc at home  Posted Image. I assume I buy minutes for web browsing and GPS as I need them just like gab minutes without a monthly contract?  I'm a novice at anything beyond a dumb True Move mobile.

GPS reception is free courtesy of the US Government.

#5182889 Toyota 1.6 Vs 1.8 Engine

Posted welbymd on 2012-04-01 15:59:48

Bigger is always better, You never need the power more than when you don't have it available. In most cases, if you're driving alone or with little in the way of extra baggage, the 1.6 Lt engine is good. If you take fairly regular trips loaded up, you'll wish you had the bigger engine.

Explain to me how Thai Immigration has control over a 747 load of Chinese tourist arriving and none read or write Thai or English, good luck having your arrival card filled out and ready when you step in front of the officer. No matter how much the, all things Thai or wrong brigade complains there are just a few things that are beyond the control of immigration.

#4848784 Anybody Seen Welch'S Grape Juice In Los?

Posted bonobo on 2011-11-15 17:45:17

I don't buy too many processed foods, but this is one of them that I do buy.  I have loved it since I was a kid, and except for maybe the brand that labels everything "Just---"  ("JustGrape," "JustPeach," etc.) Welch's is the best.

The 64 ounce bottle typically goes for 235 or so at Tops.
